PONCHATOULA, La. (WVUE) - A 44-year-old Ponchatoula Police officer died unexpectedly while on duty Tuesday (May 28), the department said.

Cpl. Pricilla Dean Pierson was a six-year veteran of the department. Ponchatoula Police chief Bry Layrisson said Pierson was found unresponsive at a Rouses supermarket around 10 a.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Layrisson said the cause of death was not yet known.

Things were simpler back then. Mom told me you could call somebody up and have your problem solved or have an answer within minutes. Try calling the doctor's office now. It's a joke.

People memorized phone numbers. People could count, add and subtract. Now? Good luck.

Everybody wasn't morbidly obese and still pounding down three big macs. They weren't wearing masks and afraid of everybody's germs. Nobody gave a crap.

We had family gatherings every so often. The family wasn't split apart. Especially at Christmas. Poof! That's gone.

We're walking around the hospital's healing garden again. I was thinking about what we all did during the scam of 2020 through today. When you step back and look at it all, what we did was amazing and powerful! Unfortunately you'll never get any credit for it .... except here. That's ok.
My son brought up the Paris summer olympics this year and how many videos we'd need to cover the carnage. Not so fast son!
