Let's Play Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Part 38 - Boss: Zarpedon + Jack Betrayed

When I was scouting the area for grinding opportunities, I accidentally triggered the story off camera. I gotta stop doing that. Anyway, when you approach the exit towards The Eye of Helios, Jack comments how too easy this is and then Zarpedon activates a forcefield. Moxxi makes a suggestion to disable the forcefield's power source and that's where the video begins. So we have to disable the power source by shooting the lit pipes when they're not red. Then we drain the energy from the forcefield and get inside. We take the long way, because the direct way has been sealed shut, which brings us to a fight against Zarpedon in a power armor. Once the power armor is destroyed, she takes us on with her Siren powers. Once she's down, Jack confronts her. She claims to have seen the contents of the Vault on Elpis located in an area of slag pollution which intrigues him and then he shoots her dead before she can warn Jack of the future if he discovers The Vault's contents. Moxxi talks us through the shutdown and reboot process of Helios' Eye which is revealed to be the eye of The Destroyer from the first game. The process injects the eye with triple the amount of recommended slag which causes it to go haywire. We initiate the reboot sequence from a distance only for an error to occur. A singularity occurs as The Eye is destroyed. Moxxi, Roland, and Lilith reveal that they're betraying Jack because they fear the kind of person he's capable of being and can't allow a destructive weapon such as The Destroyer's Eye in his possession. Jack swears vengeance as everything he's worked hard for is undone. We can go down to where The Vault is located and we'll do that in the next part. In the meantime, it turns out pieces of The Destroyer's eye are still intact. We collect them, put them back together, and test it's laser capabilities only for it to blow up in our faces, literally.
