I'm fighting one war already, but another is brewing on our borders to the east. In Episode 4 we wrap up the conflict with the Prrshans and mobilise for a far greater threat.
This amazing game can be downloaded at http://www.remnantsoftheprecursors.com. It is completely free, so there's no reason not to take it for a test drive and join in the fun!
For anybody who might want a more detailed introduction to the game, I recorded a tutorial series eXplorminate that you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeD9o5iQS_o&list=PL8cNlze3fGQhHiDs-eGpp6asJYdoBcp_n
In the words of the developer:
"Remnants of the Precursors is a remake of the original 1993 Master of Orion with updated artwork and interfaces. The original “MOO” is a seminal game in the 4X genre and functionally quite different from its much-copied successor, Master of Orion 2. The original was Computer Gaming World’s
“Strategy Game of the Year” in 1993 and is now considered “the standard by which turn-based strategy games in space are judged.” The game is also a member of GameSpy’s Hall of Fame as well as on GameSpot’s list of the greatest games of all time.
This game is neither a sequel nor an inspiration, but instead a strict “feature clone” of the original original Master of Orion, making it accessible to a modern audience for the first time in decades. Completely free, this is a passion project to be given away to modern gamers, developed by a fan of
the original with the resources and desire to make it a reality. The source code for the game will be publicly released upon completion. Remnants is being developed in Java and will run on any Linux, Mac or Windows PC with Java 8 installed."
