This is the original Night Before Christmas! It was originally called A Visit From Saint Nicholas. I find it fascinating because it depicts Santa in a slightly different light. For one, he is depicted as being shorter and literally an elf. For another, his clothing is different. Regardless, this story is largely the one that has defined our view of Santa and is an important cultural artifact.

There is also a debate on who actually wrote the poem, so I just mentioned the publisher instead of the author. I'm no expert and I don't have enough information to say who is and isn't the author, so I'd rather not get involved in that, haha.
