Transform your traditional St. Patrick's Day recipe. Corned Beef & Cabbage soup. On March 17th we're all Irish but the traditional dish is a bit overplayed. (Just my opinion) Here is how I took my St. Patty's Day ingredients and transformed them into a delicious Corned Beef & Cabbage chowder. You can also make this recipe in a crock pot or slow cooker. ( See below).
I love soup and especially homemade soup - but I did take a short cut for this recipe by using canned soup. It just saves to much time and energy - we're all busy! This is the prefect St. Patrick's Day recipe that I love, It's simple a hearty soup that you'll love.
Crock Pot / Slow Cooker Directions
1. Combine the cooked corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, vegetable broth, and cream of potato soup in a 4 or 6 qt slow cooker / crockpot.
2. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 hours on a low setting, stirring about halfway through cooking.
3. Add 1 cup of whole milk. Stir to blend and then add salt and pepper, to taste.
6. Cover the pot and cook for approximately 30 more minutes, or until hot. Add more milk or water, to thin it out- if necessary.

Split Pea Soup - Crock Pot & Slow Cooker recipe. How to make lentil soup with Ham.
I love pea soup and this recipe is also great for if you wanted to make lentil soup as well. Today I used, ham hocks but have also used the EXACT recipe using a leftover ham bone from Easter. We got nailed with about a foot of snow and it was perfect because I made my soup recipe in the crock pot and was able to save so much time (which I used to shovel my driveway LOL).
If you haven't used a slow cooker or crock pot before, I HIGHLY recommend it. It makes life SO MUCH EASIER!.

Chicken Taco Soup
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
🍽 Servings: 1
Ingredients:
50g diced Chicken Breasts
2 Tbsp diced White Onion
1 Tbsp diced Red Bell Pepper
1 clove Garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp minced Jalapenos
1.5 cups Chicken Stock
1/3 cup sugar-free Tomato Sauce
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 tsp Taco Spice Mix
50g diced Avocado
Fresh Cilantro for garnish
Procedure:
1) Sear chicken pieces slightly in olive oil.
2) Add garlic, onions, bell peppers, and jalapenos. Sweat until aromatic.
3) Add spice mix, stock and tomato sauce. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
4) Ladle into a bowl and top with avocados and cilantro.

Quick Beef Pho
RECIPE COURTESY OF JET TILA
Level: Easy
Total: 1 hr
Active: 20 min
Yield: Makes 2 large or 4 small bowls
Ingredients
Pho Stock:
2 tablespoons (30 g) beef bouillon or base
1 tablespoon (15 g) Vietnamese fish sauce
1 tablespoon (15 g) white sugar
One (2" [5-cm]) piece ginger, sliced into thin tiles
1/2 yellow onion, large dice
Pinch kosher salt
2 whole cloves
2 whole star anise
1 cinnamon stick
Assembly:
1/2 pound (240 g) thin rice stick noodles, rinsed
1/2 pound (240 g) beef strip loin or fillet, shaved thin
1 cup (240 g) Vietnamese basil leaves
1 cup (240 g) bean sprouts
1/2 cup (95 g) cilantro leaves
5 jalapeno or serrano chiles, sliced thin
4 scallions, sliced thin on the bias
1/2 yellow onion, sliced paper thin
1 lime, cut into wedges
Hoisin sauce, for the table
Chili sauce, such as Sriracha, for the table
Directions
Special equipment: cheesecloth and butcher's twine for the satchel
For the Pho Stock: Add the beef base and 1 quart water to a 2-quart (1.9-L) saucepan and bring to a low boil. Add the fish sauce, sugar, ginger, onion and salt to the stock and reduce the heat to a simmer. Wrap the cloves, star anise and cinnamon stick in a piece of cheesecloth and tie it into a satchel. Add the satchel to the broth and simmer for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 45 minutes.
Around the 30 minute mark, taste the broth to see that the spice flavors have been extracted, and adjust seasonings if necessary. Strain the aromatics and satchel from the broth, return to a sauce pot, and reserve for assembly.
For the assembly: Bring the broth back to a simmer. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Using a sieve or basket, quickly dip the noodles into the water until they are hot and al dente, 10 to 20 seconds. Drain the excess water from the noodles and distribute the noodles between 4 bowls.
Top each bowl with some sliced beef, basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeno, scallions and onion, or as each person wishes. Ladle in enough broth to cover the ingredients in the bowl. Garnish with a lime wedge. I like to serve pho with Sriracha and hoisin sauce.

(3)正統做法是使用清酒(去腥澀),影片中則使用米酒代替清酒。
(4)醃製時間從30秒到1、2小時甚至放隔夜都可以(醃醬較鹹的話,醃製時間不要太長,中途都可以試吃味道,滿意了就瀝乾)

SAVE MONEY and MAKE YOUR OWN! I got tired of spending $5.99 for a bag of kale chips (the good ones) with LITERALLY 4 leaves in the bag!!! Here's how to make your own!
***Dehydrator is better so that you can maintain them as RAW and destroy the nutrients with heat***
KALE - 6 cups
BELL PEPPERS - 2 medium. Red or Yellow
SALT - 1 tsp
NUTRITIONAL YEAST- 2 Tbsp
LIME - 1 small
COCONUT OIL - 1/3 Cup
WALNUT or CASHEWS - 1/4 Cup
(Cashew makes it creamier, but I try to use more alkaline nuts)
CHILI FLAKES - 1 tsp - Optional if you like to have a little kick. Or you can add a dash of cayenne pepper
1. Wash the kale
2. Break kale into bite-size pieced
3. Blend all the ingredients in blender
4. Coat the kale piece
5. shake off excess
6. Place on parchment paper and dehydrate/bake until crispy (flip over to ensure other side dries)
***If you leave them in the oven over night, leave the oven door ajar so the moisture can escape so your chips don't become soggy.

It is very easy to make and super delicious. If you want to give it a try, here is the recipe.
1) Melt 100 g (7tbsp) butter.
2) Add 120 g (1/2 cup) flour.
3) Gradually add 1 liter of milk, stir.
4) Add 80 g (3/4 cup) sugar.
5) Add 1 tsp of vanilla if you wish.
6) Cook until thickens.
7) Let the cream cool a little bit before pouring it into ramekins.
8) Pour the cream into ramekins and keep it in the fridge. The cream will cool completely and thicken more.
9) Use your favorite jam to spread on top.
10) Enjoy.
