After making a fool of myself, I'm deleting the last video - what a cock-up! (lol). It's so embarrassing...

I live in the city, but each November we'll have deer go meandering around by our yards. It's cool to see them here in the city! A new critter was seen this summer in my backyard and it was a skunk! Amazing that I get raccoons and opossums wandering about my backyard. I even had a turtle cross my driveway last month! lol

All these critters here in the city (lol) - this time it's a turtle. First time in over 43 years living here at this house that I've ever seen a turtle here.

The 77% Moon in the Ohio Sky, and a long-winded ramble debating over the new Canon R5, R6, and my ex-R Camera - which one to buy. I’ve been fussing over this for more than a week now - yanking my white hair out (lol).

Oh, and for some reason my YouTube Revenue has plummeted this month which has me very concerned. My revenue has always been pretty low compared to other folks who make over $1,000 a month and some of them have 60,000 less subscribers than I do. Maybe advertisers are more interested in other channels - drat! Much appreciation goes out to you folks who enjoy watching my videos, even sitting through the ads, and giving a thumbs-up - thank you all. :)

Just a few photos of Comet Neowise in the light polluted Ohio sky. I’m really missing the Canon R camera which has better low light than the 80D, but hopefully that will be remedied in another few weeks. Sorry there’s not much more to see here and the quality isn’t the best.

A poor night for trying to film the sky so you may want to give this one a miss (lol). Jupiter & Saturn were rising in the SE and dodging tree branches along the way, while Comet Neowise was a no-show in the NW.

Just out taking photos on the Canon R and decided to hit record for a bit of video. The streak trail in the photos didn't look like a satellite to me and definitely wasn't an airplane. I did check the SkySafari Pro app for the exact time and there weren't any satellites or known asteroids that passed in that direction at that time, so I'm unsure what it was.

A bit of experimentation with the Canon R & older Tamron 18-400mm lens, then back to the zooming maniac Nikon P1000 Camera.

Not sure if the photos were a meteor or not, but it's doubtful the streaks were from an airplane as those will look like a multi-colored pontoon boat in nighttime long exposure photos.

Jupiter's flaring may have been because it was so low and about to go behind the chimney, though I'm not entirely sure.

Just a bit more testing here - not a whole lot to see and is kind of lousy (sorry), but will share anyway.

Testing the Full Frame Mirrorless Canon EOS R Camera & the Tamron SP F/2.8 24-70mm Lens on the night sky. Lots of stutters from using the 1/8 in-camera shutter speed but it helps to brighten up the darkened sky.

1/8 shutter, F/2.8 aperture, ISO 20,000 (mainly), 4k video in-camera

Not much to see here and it was nearly a bust, but out of the 48 minutes of 240 still pictures, we did get one lone meteor streaking by -- better than nothing :)

The sky has been terrible over here for days on end, but finally there was a bit of an opening tonight. There's not much to see, just the 2 planets and some clouds, but it's better than being shut-out.

Jupiter came in horrible tonight as it gets lower and lower towards the horizon, but Saturn still came out nicely as it was higher up in the SSW sky. Full Moon Rising over in the ESE - and nary one flyby :)

I had to send back the beautiful Canon 90D because of a stuck red pixel in 4k video mode, right smack in the middle of the screen which was driving me nuts. I did try the recommended fixes multiple times but to no avail. I'm bummed. Hopefully will get a new one someday or maybe even the Canon EOS R full frame camera instead.

It's been a long time coming -- Orion & Orion's Nebula in the early morning Ohio sky. Also, there were 2 separate split second flashes out by the constellation.

After the short 1 minute clip at the beginning from the Canon 90D, on to the planets with the Nikon P1000 camera.

Jupiter came in decent for being so low on the horizon and Saturn looked pretty nice, but the 80% Moon came out horrible tonight. It didn't make any sense since the sky was clearer than it had been the other night when the Moon came in so much crisper. No amount of focus adjusting helped. Flybys galore tonight.

Since this video took 10 solid hours to do and we still had clear skies, I went back out to get some footage of Orion. It won't be included in here but hopefully in a few hours.

It was a beautiful sight seeing the 33% Crescent Moon next to Jupiter, even with our mucky skies. I hope you all had a chance to see them.

I wasn't prepared to take video with the equipment I had out, so just used what I had which was the Canon 80D & Tamron 18-400mm lens for video & a few pictures. Some still photos were shot with the Canon 90D & F/28 17-55mm lens.

With all the unusual activity that takes place up in our skies, along with the beauty up yonder, I wanted to keep a record of what's happening here in NE Ohio where I live (41° latitude). I've grown distrustful of 'official' sources and their cgi/photoshopping crap, so I began uploading my videos to here, but also to YouTube. This is my DiversityJ channel over at YT -- https://www.youtube.com/user/DiversityJ/videos

(sadly, vid.me is closing it's doors as of Dec 15, 2017, so all our content over there will be gone shortly)

Clean, fresh, blue skies to us all! :)
