For some reason its taking waay longer to paint these days; this was one of the last I did in 2020!
If I didn't chop it down here and there, this would've been 20 minutes;
This is a great anime, I cannot stress this enough
if you're looking for something to watch give it a shot,
lots of mind games, lots of laughs,
it's really fun and probably not what you expect!
I don't want to do JUST anime-style, it feels like I'll end up with a carbon-copy if I did that
Happy New Year if your seeing this on the 1st :D
I... I don't know if I can put myself through that again, several hours...
It wasn't for naught though, really helped with spacing out clips so I could adjust speed with music, when possible.
The glitch for the cover was just for fun, lowkey might just do it on the original later *thinking*
Well, this seems a bit.. much? or maybe not enough... mhmhmhmhmm
Her skin came out very pastel-pink heavy,
The flower part was my favourite to do.
I think I'm pretty confident now when it comes to skin in this tone now!
Could be better, but we'll get there eventually...
Shinobu-chan, well, that's her human name.
This came out better than I expected...
I made the text cards to mimic how the anime represents thoughts and the character blinking; yes it's kind of cheesy but it inspired me and I am not one to go against the waves.
Also I think their really cool on their own, simple is best.
The Monogatari series, my favourite and most memorable is definately Bakemonogatari, thought the Nekomonogatari parts are pretty top tier too; a lot of philosophical questions are brought up along with cool... folk tales? legends? I'm not sure, but every part has something to teach you. I ended up having to keep this separate from all my normal 'entertainment' because it would make me want to write about it.
There must've been a week between when I did the last one and this one [not to be mistaken with this or last week!],
There's a lot of red, I know...
Wanted to stylize it towards the end!
I think it was pretty successful if I may say so myself!
In the end there was no point in saving both sides of the face -
I used 'mask' on the entire folder as oppose to layer by layer to speed up the process;
I always thought mask designs like this would be cool to wear outside but I am not prepared to get jumped by cops so...
Maybe if the bottom half existed only and was not as 'spikey' it would be more appropriate and usable, the next problem would be that it draws WAY too much attention; would be a cool fashion statement though, imagine a cat-walk but everyone is wearing an Oni-Masks [with differentiating patterns of course!] :O
I appear to have gone on a tangent...
PS. This deadass took 5 days to process on bitchute, bruh.
5 days and 3 uploads later did it finally appear >_<
Focusing on getting myself to upload >_<
Around the time I was doing this I felt a wave of procrastination coming,
it didn't come at the time though,
it was in the distance, creeping on me, or maybe it was burnout?
Anyway, over and over I must spend time telling myself, 'no rush',
though, from my perspective time is currently not on my side.
I'm not trying to be speedy or anything - I think the weight of 'trying' is becoming heavy,
all is well though, eventually I'll readjust.
Something simple this time, sharpening my kit, probably wasn't the best idea to stop -
but again, that didn't happen just yet following these.
So, I AM making art, I AM recording... I have a terrible time juggling social media though .
This was nice, peaceful even - using the soft brush is okay for lines because of how I use the colour but - if the lines are too think it kind of enlarges parts and shrinks others unintentionally >_<
I didn't experience too much of that this time thankfully!
Not too sure why we went with a cat-like-feline-like face but it is what it is!
I went in unsure, I came out ready for more!
I won't do these often, their very taxing and my attention span for these ones are all over the place; it might just be I'm overloading myself with working on multiple at the same time, but time isn't on my side for now.
These are the best hands that I'll never be able to do again U.U
Na, I will, just gotta remember : USE REFERENCES!
This was a blast to do, I did take a huge gap in-between, honestly it was not a good idea, I should've continued the following day instead of running away, next time though...
p.s. just experimenting with the thumbnails...

So, I think all that practice is finally paying off!
I got worried at some point when I was finishing up the body [skin],
I was stressing that I may not be able to make a face to fit,
luckily I think it was all for naught,
we got there in the end.
I definitely went a bit overboard with the ending-screen-display-the-art bit.
I ended up rendering 47 clips [because of the start and stopping]
I wish I did the eyes a bit higher, but it came out okay anyway.
Probably the longest I've spent on one painting so far [I pre-record so there are few that are just as long now].
I used to wonder why artists i loved watching didnt upload so often. [the speedarts/paints/draws]
but now that i've had to experiance really rendering 5hour workloads... i get it now - conclusion?
Well, I've come to terms with, the better I get [I think I'm improving, albeit painfully slow]; the longer it will take to render, I'm talking like exponential kind of increase >_<
i revisited a few months later, man, I am so disappointed in everyone, NOBODY TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG >_<
The first attempt! I started spending dramatically more time so I decided to split it into 2. Usually doing a workload like this should've take 5+hours but not this time, mhmm.
In this attempt I begin to rationalise a bit better, using my construction method/process better?
I changed the opening; I thought to myself, as I am changing, maybe so should my work. I was super happy with it, I hadn't worked with After Effects too much, last time I touched it was over 6 years D:
This is the 100th Speed Art video.
I've painted 335 so far, I've filled 47 sketchbooks, so far.
When I did the nose on the painted version I un-did it and re-did it to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
If it went wrong I would've had no way to go back because Photoshop has undo-limits.
I was super happy with the turnouts, I noticed I always tend to use mundane colours first then towards the end breath some life [stronger colours] into it.
I tend to see colours like that too mhmm, not really sure what that means.
It did take 3x as long to complete the 2nd one and another thing, they are 2 weeks apart in terms of when I actually did them. When I repeat art I try not to do it same-day kinda thing, my hands can't handle the stress and I feel it is easier to produce when looking at it with fresh eyes.
This was fun, took way longer, spread over 3 days for the painted one, but it was worth it I think.
Really the title should be, 'Me then vs Me 2 weeks later' but thats a weird title for a speedart video.
One minute they say wear masks, THEN they say don't wear masks
THEN they say the WHO said it was required THEN THEY FLIP FLOPPED,
GOLLY, THEN THEY SAID IT WAS JUST A PRECAUTION THEN WE GOT THE STATS, ALL THE NARRATIVES STARTED CRUMBLING,
NOW ITS BEING MANDATED LMAAAO WHAT IN THE WORLD...
those on my thoughts on the mask ^
On the bright side at least they look cool lol
I wanted to compare the 2 colour schemes while also experimenting -
or rather, experimenting with 2 colour schemes; ah yes, that makes more sense.
The second attempt was faster because I had planned far better - thanks to the first attempt.
I can assure you, this is not my final form.

A great character development, a big cry baby at the start,
makes you wanna try harder though.
this anime is great, some really hate it, I'm not sure why,
it is what it is...
strange anatomy lets just call that style for now lol...
Awaiting the next season U.U
Ah yes, cloths...
Wanted to see how the outro would look and how I'd feel without a logo and signature pop up, does not feelsgoodman.
I stopped drawing eyes like this, but I won't lie, its really fun.
I've done a few more since finishing this one,
I'm sure I could totally be a h***i artists, make of that what you will.
For now I am drawing the line,
In the meantime, I surely do plan to add some stuff to Etsy REAL soon, I get really sucked into producing art, honestly I'm just procrastinating lol.
I sure did a lot of colour correction as I did this,
I originally was trying to experiment with an unsual pallete,
Gave her the crazy eyes xD
This came out really clean,
This is probably one of the better outcomes for sure,
the aberration works well on her too!
I Should really try to draw eyes like this more often.
Not sure what to say for this one...
REALLY satistifed with how the shadows came out,
using the lasso tool when possible makes for sharper and larger shadow area.
I am sure if I did cell shading only enough I'd end up using it a ton, I know for sure Sakami-Chan [other artist] use this method for doing some of their shadows.
I do wish I could, or rather did draw a mature looking face, but I am satisfied, better to not overthink...
I kept the chromatic aberration on the purple, this was quite the experiment for myself.
I'll use both digital and traditional lineart interchangeably, that is the final draw from this .
Doing it twice gave me the opportunity to use a different colour scheme and helped sharpen my aim for what I was doing in the digial-linart version.
I could've just changed the hue and saturation of the colour, but I wouldn't get the chance to actually compare in real-time with hard evidence.
I really like the outcome, of both, its a shame I can't phyiscally work longer hours per week >_<
but it is what it is...
This was definitely a good idea.
I hope you agree :D
This is quite the amalgamation aha'
I remained unsure of if to reline or not,
something about keeping the integrity of the traditional parts...
Song: Paul Garzon - Survivors
Music promoted by FMW. Released by Magic.
Not so sure thats an appropriate title,
I worked on this and what is to follow at 2 seperate times, I have to take more than normal regular breaks because reasons'.
The good thing, it gives me a fresh look a number of times,
this helps tremendously with not getting caught up attempting to redo parts over and over!
I really like the Mascot Suit design,
A good learning experiance painting something other than a girl for a change.
Something about the eyes...
Oh, I had to slow down rendering and uploading, my room was turning into a furnace...
I wanted to bring it to digital to test modification and push my art process a bit further; the mask was last minute but I really like it, I hope you do too.
At the end I used Chromatic Aberration, off-record I did some other tests to see where it was applicable, still a lot to learn and experiment with that, maybe I'll ask some photography-friends if they have any cool information for me; the internet is also a great provider to be fair. O.O
This is one of the few that I worked on for an extended amount of time, usually I put in around 1.5hours to 2.5hours per artwork,
I am NOT doing that deliberately, I think I am getting quite a lot done in very little time though I have no way to measure the accuracy of such statement.

Lots of art! Mostly digital!
Things happen, one thing led to another, and here we are.
There is a literal limit to what I can do for now -.-
My arms are not really playing ball like they supposed to, moving on...
I try to do something better each piece, sometimes it goes well,
I am sure there is something for everyone, if not the ending, maybe the process!
You could say, I am pretty resilient
