At first I wasn't sure if I'd proceed with this, it escalated very quickly and I had to spend some extra time figuring out her cloths;
Mona; she was my first 5-star character that I rolled,
honestly she was the only I wanted so it was kind of like a sign to keep playing
I don't think I'd still be playing the game if I didn't get her that day o.o

This was the last painting I did in 2020

For some reason its taking waay longer to paint these days; this was one of the last I did in 2020!

The flower part was my favourite to do.

This came out better than I expected...

I made the text cards to mimic how the anime represents thoughts and the character blinking; yes it's kind of cheesy but it inspired me and I am not one to go against the waves.
Also I think their really cool on their own, simple is best.

The Monogatari series, my favourite and most memorable is definately Bakemonogatari,thought the Nekomonogatari parts are pretty top tier too; a lot of philosophical questions are brought up along with cool... folk tales? legends? I'm not sure, but every part has something to teach you. I ended up having to keep this separate from all my normal 'entertainment' because it would make me want to write about it.

In the end there was no point in saving both sides of the face -
I used 'mask' on the entire folder as oppose to layer by layer to speed up the process;
I always thought mask designs like this would be cool to wear outside but I am not prepared to get jumped by cops so...
Maybe if the bottom half existed only and was not as 'spikey' it would be more appropriate and usable, the next problem would be that it draws WAY too much attention; would be a cool fashion statement though, imagine a cat-walk but everyone is wearing an Oni-Masks [with differentiating patterns of course!] :O
I appear to have gone on a tangent...

Focusing on getting myself to upload >_<

Around the time I was doing this I felt a wave of procrastination coming,
it didn't come at the time though,
it was in the distance, creeping on me, or maybe it was burnout?
Anyway, over and over I must spend time telling myself, 'no rush',
though, from my perspective time is currently not on my side.
I'm not trying to be speedy or anything - I think the weight of 'trying' is becoming heavy,
all is well though, eventually I'll readjust.

Something simple this time, sharpening my kit, probably wasn't the best idea to stop -
but again, that didn't happen just yet following these.

So, I AM making art, I AM recording... I have a terrible time juggling social media though .
This was nice, peaceful even - using the soft brush is okay for lines because of how I use the colour but - if the lines are too think it kind of enlarges parts and shrinks others unintentionally >_<
I didn't experience too much of that this time thankfully!
Not too sure why we went with a cat-like-feline-like face but it is what it is!

I went in unsure, I came out ready for more!
I won't do these often, their very taxing and my attention span for these ones are all over the place; it might just be I'm overloading myself with working on multiple at the same time, but time isn't on my side for now.

I ended up rendering 47 clips [because of the start and stopping]
I wish I did the eyes a bit higher, but it came out okay anyway.
Probably the longest I've spent on one painting so far [I pre-record so there are few that are just as long now].

I used to wonder why artists i loved watching didnt upload so often. [the speedarts/paints/draws]
but now that i've had to experiance really rendering 5hour workloads... i get it now - conclusion?
Well, I've come to terms with, the better I get [I think I'm improving, albeit painfully slow]; the longer it will take to render, I'm talking like exponential kind of increase >_<

This is the 100th Speed Art video.
I've painted 335 so far, I've filled 47 sketchbooks, so far.

When I did the nose on the painted version I un-did it and re-did it to make sure it wasn't a fluke.
If it went wrong I would've had no way to go back because Photoshop has undo-limits.

I was super happy with the turnouts, I noticed I always tend to use mundane colours first then towards the end breath some life [stronger colours] into it.
I tend to see colours like that too mhmm, not really sure what that means.

It did take 3x as long to complete the 2nd one and another thing, they are 2 weeks apart in terms of when I actually did them. When I repeat art I try not to do it same-day kinda thing, my hands can't handle the stress and I feel it is easier to produce when looking at it with fresh eyes.

This was fun, took way longer, spread over 3 days for the painted one, but it was worth it I think.
Really the title should be, 'Me then vs Me 2 weeks later' but thats a weird title for a speedart video.

Not sure what to say for this one...
REALLY satistifed with how the shadows came out,
using the lasso tool when possible makes for sharper and larger shadow area.

I am sure if I did cell shading only enough I'd end up using it a ton, I know for sure Sakami-Chan [other artist] use this method for doing some of their shadows.

I do wish I could, or rather did draw a mature looking face, but I am satisfied, better to not overthink...

I kept the chromatic aberration on the purple, this was quite the experiment for myself.
I'll use both digital and traditional lineart interchangeably, that is the final draw from this .

Doing it twice gave me the opportunity to use a different colour scheme and helped sharpen my aim for what I was doing in the digial-linart version.

I could've just changed the hue and saturation of the colour, but I wouldn't get the chance to actually compare in real-time with hard evidence.

I really like the outcome, of both, its a shame I can't phyiscally work longer hours per week >_<
but it is what it is...

This was definitely a good idea.

Not so sure thats an appropriate title,
I worked on this and what is to follow at 2 seperate times, I have to take more than normal regular breaks because reasons'.
The good thing, it gives me a fresh look a number of times,
this helps tremendously with not getting caught up attempting to redo parts over and over!
