This is an arrangement I composed for Broken Promises by Dave Silcox & KVDOS ft. Nikki Ambers. I have really been digging the EDM stuff lately, and I knew almost instantly when I first heard this song that I had to cover it. The fluid, soaring vocal lines over the snappy, syncopated, up-tempo beat is a thing of beauty. It's not the most well known music, but it's a lot of fun to play!

This is an arrangement I composed for In The Name of Love by Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha. I stumbled upon this song a little while back, and it stood out to me as being exceptionally well written and composed. I'm glad I decided to learn it because it just plays out so nicely on solo bass. This is my first quarantine video :) I have temporarily moved to Florida to help out some family members down here, so my surroundings are a bit different. But my hair is getting long, and I don't have all of my gear and effects on hand :\

This is an arrangement I composed for Everything I Wanted by Billie Eilish. It's my very first Billie Eilish cover! I don't enjoy all of her music, but this song stood out and caught my attention. It has her signature dark aesthetic, but it also has this beautiful melodic quality that makes for a great solo bass ballad. This arrangement is fairly short and should be easy enough for intermediate and some beginner players to learn.

Happy 2020, folks! I'm starting off the new year with an arrangement I composed for Lose Control by Meduza ft. Becky Hill and Goodboys. This is a high energy EDM track that was recently released that I've really been digging, so I decided to transpose it to solo bass. I'm playing my new G&L L2000 in forest green. Green is my favorite color, and I gotta say I'm overjoyed to finally have a green bass!

This is an arrangement I composed for Work by Rihanna ft. Drake. I really love this song, and in my opinion it's a modern masterpiece. It has such a fantastic beat and powerful vocal performance, and It's one of those songs that I think will become a future 2010's classic. The arrangement is a lot of WORK to play up to speed, but I had a lot of fun playing it!

This is an arrangement I composed for I Wanna Be Down by Brandy. This is one of my favorite songs from the 90's R&B resurgence. All the song sections are expertly woven together with a hauntingly dissonant melody and a funky mid-tempo rhythm with swinging 16th note syncopation. The rhythm made it difficult to cover on solo bass, but I'd say it was well worth the effort in the end :)

And now for something completely different!

This is a bass duet I composed with Genséric from Genséric Bass World for Thunderclouds by LSD, Sia, Diplo, and Labrinth. Genséric and I have similar taste in music and playing style, so we decided to collaborate on this song and make something that combines solo bass rhythm and melody in a duet form. I had a great time collaborating and would certainly like to do more!

If you enjoy my videos or solo bass music in general then you should definitely check out Genséric's channel and subscribe to him here:

This is an arrangement I composed for Dancing With A Stranger by Sam Smith & Normani. This song really struck me because it straddles the line between a dance track and a ballad. I think it has some of the best qualities of each. The arrangement is fairly approachable for beginners and intermediate players, though there are a few challenging parts.

This is an arrangement I composed for Sunflower by Post Malone & Swae Lee. I tend to play a lot of dark, complex, melancholic songs, but occasionally I like to play happy chill songs, and Sunflower is one of those songs :) It's actually more difficult to play than it may appear due to the combination of 16th note melody lines, awkward chord fingerings, and several different techniques played in quick succession. Tabs will be posted soon.

This is my cover of Marcelo Feldman's (aka The Bass Wizard) solo bass arrangement for I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt. I love this song, and I loved the arrangement Marcelo did for it, so I decided to learn it and play it here as my first ever solo bass cover. There are several solo bassists I admire, and I will probably cover more of their work in the future in addition to playing my own arrangements. I will not post tabs for this one as it's not my composition and not my decision to do so.

Merry (early) Christmas! This is an arrangement I composed for Here Comes Santa Claus. This song was originally composed by Oakley Haldeman with lyrics written and performed by Gene Autry in 1947. It has since become a classic Christmas carol. There are a lot of great Christmas songs to choose from, but I picked this one because of it's fun jazzy sound and relatively limited number of covers done for it so far. This is an arrangement I composed for The Sign by Ace of Base. This song was a favorite of mine back in the 90's, and after revisiting it I found it has a nice melody and chord progression that sounds great on solo bass! I ditched the extra cameras for this recording, so please excuse the limited editing. Tabs will be posted shortly.

This is an arrangement I composed for Don't Matter To Me by Drake ft. Michael Jackson. I though it was so cool how Drake retrofitted one of Michael's unreleased songs from the 80's and made it into something very modern yet classic sounding. It's got a great mix of new and old, and when I first heard it I just knew I had to play it on solo bass. Tabs will be posted shortly.

This is a Guitar Pro tab playthrough of my solo bass arrangement for Lost In Japan by Shawn Mendes. This video was made with an open source Guitar Pro tab editor called TuxGuitar for Linux. I will probably release a few more tab playthroughs for popular solo arrangements in the future, but I don't think I'll be transcribing all of them this way because it takes so much time.

This is an arrangement I composed for Lost In Japan by Shawn Mendes. Mendes has been putting out a lot of great stuff lately, so I'm happy to pay him (additional) tribute with this cover. This was a difficult arrangement to play and record, and I had been sitting on it for far too long. I almost gave up on releasing it. Fortunately I got a clean(ish) take in the final hour. This is an arrangement I composed for Follow You Down by Gin Blossoms. Gin Blossoms is one of my favorite 90's bands, and their songs have beautiful melodic vocal and guitar lines over melancholic harmonies and upbeat, snappy rhythms. Follow You Down is a prime example of this sound, and it translates well to solo bass. This is a difficult arrangement that took a lot of effort to compose and perfect, but I think it was worth putting in the time to get it right. Tabs will be posted shortly.

I've been kicking around the idea of transcribing my solo bass arrangements into a Guitar Pro style tab, so I set up a short demo of my Castle On The Hill arrangement using TuxGuitar. TuxGuitar is a free open source tab editor software that works similar to Guitar Pro. Guitar Pro tabs are unique and valuable because you can edit and play them back interactively in a way that combines audio and visual tracking. This can make it easier to learn a piece of music than just reading the text based version of the tabs or sheet music. I'm considering transcribing all of my solo arrangements this way, and I'd like to hear back from other bassists. Has anyone tried to learn one of my solos from the tabs and had difficulty? Would having a Guitar Pro tab help you learn better? Please like this video if so, and leave a comment with any feedback. Thanks!!

This is an arrangement I composed for Heart of Gold by Neil Young. I'm dedicating this video to my dad who's a huge Neil Young fan. He often complains about not knowing any of the songs I cover, so this is my first outreach to my him and the rest of the Baby Boomers. Also I switched up my backdrop and will continue to shoot more colorful video sets. Tabs will be posted shortly.

I've been feeling some 90's R&B lately, so I composed an arrangement for Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey. It's one of my favorite songs from childhood and of all time I guess. I'll be covering more older songs from now on along with a lot of new stuff as well. That way all the old folks who aren't hip to what's happening can follow along :)

Tabs will be posted shortly.

Hi, I'm Anthony! I'm 28 and have been playing bass for the past 12 years or so, and my mission is to make more music available for solo bassists. I like to arrange popular songs for solo bass guitar, perform them here, and publish free tabs to help others learn. Please subscribe and keep an eye on my channel, and you'll see a lot of unique bass stuff that you won't find anywhere else. I release videos every few weeks depending on how busy life is.

This channel is mostly a mirror of my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCek5F6yi2-FNxal_JmrWs4Q. I enjoy dissident politics, I support Alt Tech, and I would like to see BitChute grow to overtake YouTube some day. However I think its content will need to expand beyond politics in order to become mainstream. Since my own personal content is music related, I want to start using BitChute now to help it become a more well-rounded platform.
