A Lightning Strike has Ignited a Massive Fire at Calcasieu Refining Plant with Mandatory Evacuation Ordered issued Within 1.5-Mile Radius

Currently multiple Emergency crews and other agencies are working hard while battling a massive fire at the Calcasieu crude oil Refining plant in lake Charles, Louisiana after an lightning strike ignited the fire Officials have issued a mandatory evacuation for a 1.5-mile radius, with a 3-mile shelter-in-place.

The story:
A man scaled a sizable opening in a big RV and landed on a ferry tragically dying himself and endangering everyone else on board at a boat pier in Quebec, Canada.

According to CBC News, while passing through the little community of Tadoussac in northern Quebec, the RV accelerated downward and out of the driver’s control. The man was only a passenger in the enormous vehicle as it hit a ramp at speed, sending the camper into the air because he was unable to swerve away from the busy pier.

A 40-year-old female passenger was in the RV with the driver, who was identified by authorities as 40-year-old Eric Belec. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, both were taken immediately to the hospital; however, Belec passed away from his injuries a short time later. Following the collision, the woman is allegedly in critical condition.

Witnesses told Radio-Canada that Belec tried to alert onlookers to the problem in any manner he could, including swerving to avoid automobiles and honking the RV’s horn. “He was trying to stop by swerving into the metal gates on the side of the road,” a witness explained.

The RV’s mechanical problems were probably to blame, according to Sgt. Hugues Beaulieu of the Quebec Provincial Police. Despite the fact that motor homes are notoriously unsafe and this particular model, which appeared to be significantly older, likely didn’t do Belec or his passenger any favors in terms of crash protection, it’s unlikely that Belec could have survived the wreck in any type of vehicle, judging by the impact made upon landing.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A community is demanding action after a video went viral showing a rollover crash that threw two people out of a car in North Memphis.

Surveillance footage shows a car flipping multiple times, causing the driver and passenger to go airborne. One of the people landed on the roof of Smith Pool and a second person crashed through the window of the business.

According to the crash report, the driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound on Jackson Avenue. Police say the vehicle hit a curb then a traffic sign and rolled through a parking lot several times before it hit a building and another vehicle. The 19-year-old driver along with the passenger ejected from the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but the passenger later died.

According to the report, officers concluded that the driver was speeding and recklessly driving. This incident has left local businesses calling for more traffic enforcement in the area. A woman who owns a hair salon nearby says speeding drivers have hit her shop multiple times.

Beyond a traffic sensor in the area, many believe not enough is being done to prevent future tragedies.
