Remember way back in CH 3, GOD told Moses that the people would worship HIM at Mt. Horeb (also called Mt. Sinai) in the wilderness. Now they reach their goal. They are there.
The LORD tells Moses to consecrate the people. This means that the people must wash their clothes; totally focus on GOD. In three days the LORD will descend upon Mount Sinai in their sight. Therefore, the people must not touch the mountain; anyone who does will die. So, Moses consecrates, dedicates the people, also warning them to abstain from sex for the next three days. Later in Exodus, GOD will give Moses instructions for building the tabernacle where GOD will be worshiped.
GOD begins the commandments by identifying HIMself as the GOD Who delivered them. A reminder that GOD’s deliverance of the people comes first, and their obedience follows as a response to GOD saving them. Because of this, it’s especially fitting that the people be loyal only to the One True GOD, Yehovah, the LORD YHVH.
The people must honor their father and mother, so that their days in the promised land may be long. They must not murder, commit adultery, steal, or “bear false witness” against a neighbor. They also must not covet anything belonging to a neighbor.
So, the people are frightened by the thunder and lighting, the smoking mountain, and the trumpet. They tell Moses that if GOD continues to speak to them, they will die. Moses reassures them, GOD is only testing them and making sure that the people fear that is respect or are in awe GOD.

When Moses asks the LORD what he should do with these people, the LORD tells him to go ahead of the people, taking along his staff and some of the elders. Moses is to go to a rock at Horeb, strike the rock and GOD would provide the water.
Amalek attacks Israel at Rephidim. Moses orders Joshua to choose some men and fight Amalek, while Moses stands on the hill with staff in hand.
When Moses’s arms get tired, he sits on a stone while Aaron and Hur hold up his arms. Joshua defeats Amalek, and Moses builds an altar called “The LORD is my banner”.

The Pharoah changes his mind, GOD hardens his heart and he rounds up his army and chases after the Israelites. The Israelites get to the Gulf of Aqaba, and it appears that they are trapped. The people freak out and blame Moses and say it is better we remained in slavery than die here.
The route then takes them to the west side of the smaller finger of the reed sea or red sea gulf of Aqaba. Aqaba in Arabic means the obstacle and indeed it may have been. The Philistines were to the north the Egyptians were to the west coming after them and the sea was in front of them.
As a believer we must never put circumstances between us and GOD. But as believers in the plan of GOD we need to put GOD between us and our circumstances.When GOD says GO FORWARD! We are to GOFORWARD, no excuses, no regrets, no fear, HE will open the path and lead HIS people, as a shepherd leads HIS flock.
Moses says the LORD is my strength, my song, my salvation, and my GOD. Well, this song could be sung by any of us, for those attributes apply to us as well. This song proclaims GOD’s immense power, HIS awesome wonders and majesty.
While they were in Egypt, they had no song to sing, only groaning and crying out to the LORD. They weren't singing any song of worship. At least we are not told of any.GOD delivers them then they respond. GOD delivered them so their sighing turns into singing.
This Song has three stanzas (2–6; 7–11; 12–17), there is an intro and a conclusion (Vs 1 and 18-21). Each stanza begins with two verses that tell of what the LORD has done, then two verses of description and a comparison, and concludes with one verse of praise directly addressed to the LORD.
Worship is a response, it is focused, exclusively to GOD Yehovah. 12 times ..

The Israelites’ camp is covered with quail. The next morning, a layer of dew covers the camp. When the dew lifts, a fine substance coats the ground, like frost. The Cloud was with them.

In CH 15, we saw the children of Israel singing praises to the LORD following their safe crossing of the Red Sea and the destruction of the Egyptians. The Israelites sang of triumph and glory as they continued marching toward Mt. Sinai.
