a quick catch up

I was emptying our dry toilet into our compost, in the dark of course...
when the garden came alive with MAGIC!
We needed another 'hedge/boarder' and some lovely people gave us their rose bushes for FREE.
We are not sure exactly what colour they will be yet but our garden will be transformed.
We didn't want to spend lots of money - or any at all really, so we have been re planting established plants that are growing like mad.
Can't wait to see what our raspberry hedge looks like in the summer.
I wanted to share some thoughts and give a little advice during our second lockdown, here in France.

October already?
The end of the summer came with an almighty frost and time for change in the garden again.
Every day we put any spare vegetables on a table in the entrance to our community garden.
People can take them for FREE
Our neighbours - the cows - are in the next field I thought it would be lovely to show you around to the sound of cow bells.

Roy's concreting the last bit of our barn floor.
We took out the uneven cobbled floor and lowered it by 2 feet.
After this we need to put the ceiling in, build a dividing stone wall and move our furniture to the right places.
That's us more or less sorted for the winter.
My main focus today is 'Inner Peace'

I just found all these baby butternut squash's today in our patch... it's SO exciting!
We have been digging out the last part of the floor in the barn ready for concreting.
Roy has had some fun moving giant stones and cracking rocks.... they are HEAVY

HI, i'm Eve and we are the 'Dalley Family' from the UK.
We moved to France in January 2019. We bought a barn to convert with a field.
We home school our children and are learning to be as off-grid/self sustainable as possible.
