This weekend was my birthday and my fiance' treated me to staying in my very first A-Frame Cabin. This cabin is located in Clarksville Tennesee which was close to some property we were considering buying. In this video, I give a tour of the A-Frame and show some of the property. Decided to do a quick overnighter at another abandoned pond out at the Charles C. Deam Wilderness. This one was not very far out, probably about 0.8 miles from the Hickory Firetwower Parking lot. I had not used my Zpacks Duplex tent in a while and so wanted to take it with me. I also had some new products I was testing out such as a Stansport 8-inch oil lantern, UCO tealight lantern, and a Silky Big Boy 2000 saw. All worked perfectly and really added to the trip. Made my usual meal of a ribeye steak cooked over the fire and just really enjoyed myself. I love to do a solo camping every once in a while. I also enjoy making videos where I let the pictures tell the story rather than narrate them. I hope you all enjoy this one.

Truck Camping Season has now begun! I decided to join my buddy Keith aka Trailmedic at Ferdinand State Forest in Southwest Indiana at the last minute. I am glad I did because I got to Truck Camp in one of the prettiest state forest campgrounds in the state. It is well maintained, clean, and has a beautiful lake for kayaking, fishing, and even swimming. There is an abundance of wildlife around as well. I got to see deer, geese, blue heron, chipmunks, squirrels, and even a groundhog on my drive out. I can't recommend this place enough. We had some great fajitas and just relaxed as the breeze kept blowing through the trees. I hope you enjoy this video.

Not all hikes go as planned. The plan for this thru-hike was laid out carefully and well thought out...Mother Nature however had other plans for us. Let's recap all of the crappy things that happened on this trail:
1. Crawling Under a Powerline
2. Hiking beyond the outermost physical limits of one's body
3. "Hand of God" type end times lightning and Thunderstorms
4. Creek flooding and rushing water obstacles
The crazy part about all of this is, I still had a good time. Now that I am safe in my home typing this, I can say it is the truth. Every so often, we need to be reminded of our own mortality, which was my turn.

My buddy Brian Carlson from Carlson Adventures went and bought himself a new Dream Hammock Sparrow and was itching to use it. So he called me up at the last minute to see if I wanted to go on an overnighter. I was originally going to stay in for the weekend but hearing the excitement in his voice I relented LOL. So we set out to find and camp by another abandoned pond in the Charles C Deam Wilderness. The temperature and weather were perfect for the trip and it was a very relaxing time in the woods. Even these short backpacking and camping trips are pretty awesome to take.
