Here's another mobile home moving fail story for everyone. Complete fail, long single-wide stuck in a ravine when Phil gets there.
⏱️⏱️Chapters⏱️⏱️
00:00 Intro
00:12 Got a call that a mobile home mover was hung up
00:40 His rollers are $1500 18 years ago, not something you want to loan out
01:20 Way out past Elkins, AR stuck in a ravine
01:30 70' single wide trailer
01:55 Wheels on the ravine side are hanging off the road
02:25 Under the trailer and mobile home, the mover had 3 guys working
02:40 Trailer was above their head almost 7' high
03:00 Telling the 3 guys to get out of the ravine
03:15 Jacked the house up, had to get more stuff to do it
03:45 Ended up moving it 3' at a time 7 times
04:15 Had to jack it up 2 more times because it kept dropping back into the ravine
04:30 20' after the ravine he couldn't go anywhere
04:50 Murphy's law was in full effect
05:00 Normal routine is the driver drives the route, checks it out before they do the move
05:40 The movers had to pay a guy for the tree they needed to cut
06:00 Back the next day in a snow storm
06:25 Had to go straight up through a ditch to get to the property
07:00 Day 2 and running out of daylight again
07:30 The mover decided Phil was in charge
08:00 Trying to get the mobile home up a steep hill and set in place
08:30 Have another heavy duty truck to pull the mobile home, but have to keep it from flipping over
09:00 Moving the mobile home, moving truck 7-10' at a time up the hill
09:30 Stopping for the night just to dangerous to continue
10:10 Three and half days to move the house and set it up

So with the pioneer inverter ultra high efficiency heat pump. The instructions were a lot left to be desired. It was very difficult to get to where we needed to get, but we did get it, particularly Drew. We've got all the lines up, everything's connected. The drains were a little bit of a challenge also because of the distance we're having to carry.
So we put it in two Pexs. One of the connections out of three or four or five connections is not leaking and we don't want that to happen. That is the drain connection. Everything else is working. Kicking out at 62. So Drew and Clay, particularly Drew did a good job getting everything squared away, the wiring. We had a minor problem.
The new, the different style disconnect kind of threw Clay for a loop, but Drew and Clay did a good job on it. Is it something that somebody can do easily on their own? First of all, you would not have the Freon available to you unless you are an air conditioned person. Then all the other tools that require like a vacuum pump and gauges and all those things would probably not be something that you could get your hands on.
They do have, according to Clay, a quick connect set up where the Freon is included. So that would be something I would look into if you were doing it for yourself. Otherwise, this is kind of for the person who is not going to do it to know what should be done or what it could look like and the person who is doing it.
Some tips on what we had to fight with and what can be done. So I hope that helps guys. We'll see you next time.

Once you’ve got your five pin and I think it’s a 12 pin, you have to put your cover back on. But you can't because the wires obstruct. We’ve got the fan on going right now. Everything is working. If everything works correctly this black connector does nothing for you. So what you have got to do is you got to remove this little hook here goes into a screw. The screws have a tendency to want to stick but they’ll fall out eventually, just take them out.
It's a little bit hard to do by yourself. Trust me. I know. Especially put it back up, getting it down is pretty easy. That one was sticky. All right. Let’s move this out of the way.
Now we got to put our metal cover back on. The thing with the metal cover. Firstly, you don't want to shock yourself, but we got to make sure these wire this whole is right. What I do is put it like that. Put a screw on it with a screw gun. And you put all your screws back in. Remember this one over here. There’s one right here. Get the other screw.
Now, the hard part of the easy part, believe it or not. It’s really hard to get this. You got to use both your hands. You got to use a screw gun. It might be easier for a screwdriver. Hold it up there, find your hole. By yourself it’d be really hard. There you go, now just hook it up like we showed you. Don't worry about this wire.
There you go.
Easy way to prevent wasps from making nests in the wiring of your mini-split. Something that not all AC guys do.

All right. So one of the things that you don’t have to do, but it's recommended you do actually, I don't think a lot of AC guys actually do this, but it helps a lot. So there are I think this is a half inch connector that we'll put in this hole, like that. We’ll run this wire, this other wire through it. And I’ll show you guys, how we do that.
And the whole idea is keep wasps out. Right? So any time anyone has come out here and service it they don't have to... And weather. Deal with wasps getting on them, stinging them. So what we'll do is we'll take one of the wires at a time fish it through. Hold it upside down like that so that the gate doesn't keep falling on you. And you’ll fish them through one at a time, which it’s a little bit difficult.
Can be a little hard sometimes, and keep doing it. This will be the last one we’ve got to get through here. Just like that. We’ll slide it down to the black. Oh, there we go. And we're going to slide this in there and then you'll fit your little wing nut that comes with it. Going to put that on. You'll go down to it and you’ll tighten it on. I think I have mine on upside down. There we go. We're done.
That's how you do it. Keep bugs out. Look right here. No wasps can get up in that hole with that wire.

All right, guys, we're out here. We already got the inside hooked up like we were talking about. So look here. There's these three right here. L1, L2 and ground. That will be your power that comes in from outside. Into the unit. 1A, 2A, 3A is what's going out to your first head. What should be the highest capacity you have? All these heads here are all the same capacity, so we don't have to worry about that.
So if you have one that’s say 12,000 BTU and these are all 9000, you're 12,000 would be your first head on your unit, which would be here and then your lessers would be there. So your max-, your highest capacity of your first one, the one B to be three B will be your second one, 1C, 2C, 3C will be a third one.
So in our case, 1B, 2B and 3B will be our kitchen. 1C, 2C and 3C will be the living room for us. And we're not using all three of these. Well, one of the how the L1, L2 and the ground are the power coming in. So and then your ground, it has a connector around cracker here you'll have to one of these grounds here and square and there and that's how you do it.
But before we go, this is our old vacuum pump from Harbor Freight, still kicking. up here. When we vacuum down, we vacuum on the 500 microns is what you want to do, which is 29, 30 to 30 negative inches of mercury, which is an AC into the mercury. This one tells us a percentage. It’s a digital manifold gauge. So we're only 22% for this and we need to be at 100, which will be 30 inches a mercury, -30 inches of mercury.
And then what you'll do is you let it sit for like 15 minutes after you do that and you'll see where it is drop, how much is drop? And if you have a big drop, you have a leak. The issue is

Glad to have you here. We're going to travel to this little project. And this is replacing the bathtub, which has a center drain. We're going to turn it to the left-hand drain. which when you face the tub, the drains on the left or the drains on the right. That's how you order. Now, this is not a regular 60 inch tub.
It's smaller, so you have to get that size, which I think is 54 inches. And again, your tub surround would have to be to be one, not one that will shrink down to 54 on the back side. So keep that in mind when you go to get your tub location of the drain the size of the tub and then the surround.
So, we're going to take all this out. We'll see what we got to repair under the floor. If you notice it patched up all the fiberglass and it didn't hold. If you watch some of my other videos, you'll know why generally that means the floor is bad underneath and we'll have to get plywood and fix all that. But this is what we're doing.

So remember, I showed you guys to take off the batten strips and then hammer down the nails and staples that are standing up around your hammer down. Then you take your drywall mud and you put it on. You can do it that way, or you can do it this way.
You want to make sure you get enough mud to cover. And then that if you down, the tape will blister up when you put mud on top of it later. Which you'll do a second coat. Lay it right on top of where that crack is.
I know I'm making it look easy, but I've done it for a long time and I just can't help it. Perhaps we'll show you guys how to do the drywall finishing it. It's not something you can learn overnight if it is. Then I've been pretty stupid because it took me a long time to get any kind of good. So anyway, you pull that down. Tight as you can. There's your first coat and then we'll finish it out, which I'll do is I'll put mud on like so if you just have a six-inch knife, you can do it with a six-inch. But I prefer to burst out with a ten and then a twelve. Then you spread it out.
But. Got to do one side. So that the knife will be able to cover when you go over it, like so. Do the other side know a lot of guys won't do but one side at a time? I understand.
But I can do both sides so and I don't I'm very much sanding. I don't do any sand as a rule. And normally, I put it on with a one size knife, and then I use a bigger knife, like if I put on with the six, I would pull it off with an eight-inch knife.
But you don't have to do both sides, you can do one side of everything, come back a bit after drys and do the other side, but there they'll be pretty flat. And then you just do that everywhere. Now I imagine that other people will have to work at it longer and don't feel bad.
That's part of it. But w

We're back. Caught me when I'm sweaty. Which is not ever, ever, I should be a supervisor by now, but I'm not. Anyway, we're doing a corner bead, want to show you how, things that I know about corner bead, some of the things I know. First of all your want to cut your corner bead, so you know it has a profile, if you notice it's built up off of each side so you can slide mud over the top of that. It's particularly, I want to show you. I want to sure you don't have anything that's going to keep you bulged out and make an issue.
And then you put it up here with this case for you to screw a one of the videos I showed you a corner bead clincher. You can do that. And you can also use nails, a lot of guys like nails. The thing about screws is that you want to make sure you don't pull so far down, that it will twist the metal you want to try to keep it straight.
So, try to eyeball it straight. And one of the ways you can kind of avoid doing that is put where you put one screw, put another screw over here, close. Now, you can use these holes or you can use the smaller holes, either way you want. The idea is to get it where it's tight and where it stands up. Now, you can twist it around and then this will be hidden When you go across instead of this, what you want is that corner to be the high on both sides All right.
So we're going to keep on going. Now, the reason I use screws as opposed to nails. It's a lot harder to knock that off, with a piece of furniture or something else.
And, you can always change something I was checking something, you can always pull screw out. It's harder to pull a nail out. And it's easier to knock a nail off, or for a nail to have vibration and pull out. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it with nails, I'm saying that's the reason

This is a common way to cover the strips. I mean, the cracks in the drywall, so, they put. This is called a batten strip, and they staple it on. Now if you want to get rid of that funny look that makes it look less like a house is you would you would.
If you have it painted a bunch, you're going to want to take a razor and cut on both sides. Otherwise it'll peel back the paint quite a ways. But you take a pry bar. Pull it off. And then just run your hammer.
And when you feel that bump, hammer it down. Then you'll dry, drywall finish it, and I'll show you that here in just a second. But that's what you do.

So what we've done is run this line that's already got its insulation. And both this little area right here is where we tore the two apart to have a way to hold them together. Obviously, they can't be the same together because they have one set back from the other.
We went through the first 25 footer on the a and you start these you adjust them very slowly. Don’t kink them. That's a bad thing to kink copper and then you start over hand until they're on their good Do not try to start them with a pair of wrenches or something because you can end up stripping it. That's bad too.
Really bad. So take the time to shape the pipe so that you can put that on my hand almost all the way. You can usually do it. Then you can tighten it up with a crescent wrench or it's a three quarter size and this is three quarter. And I think this one's going to be like inch and a quarter.
I haven't tried it. So we used crescent wrench to set this on. Then I shaped in so that it would be up against the wall, will end up building up a wall to hide it wrap it up in, so bugs won't land on it and make nests on it, all that kind of stuff. And it will tend to blend in, but we still have two more runs.
Both of those are 50 foot and then we'll I'm not showing you up there because I'm letting Drew do it, tightening it up. But it's not something that's impossible to do for somebody who doesn't have the experience. So that's why I'm telling you with quiet comfort that you can do this yourself. Now, you can't get the freedom, you don't have the gauges.
So when you go to 50 foot or anything beyond 25 foot per run, you will have to have somebody add freon to it .16 ounces per one foot past 25. Ok, It has it in it the ability to deal with 25 feet per run. After that, you have to add freon and we'll have to see how that all goes.
I'll let you know as we go along. Right now, he's up in the attic getting sweaty just like me. See you in a bit.

Which is probably why now all of a sudden there's this real fancy automatic $300 flare tool, available online because the air conditioning guys are making so much money that they can afford to buy platinum covered, they'll be something there'll be a 2 to $3000 flaring tool come out. They'll massage your back while you're doing it. You put it on like a armor thing. Believe me, these guys are making way too much money.
But so are electricians and plumbers. The those guys don't. They buy big buildings and fancy trucks and I believe too greedy. And then all the inspectors are all kind of their buddies, you know, even though they fail them from time to time because they all believe in having high end stuff done. Is it necessary? No. Are you going to deal with it?
Yes. You’ll have to deal with it. The fact that you know, that they're ripping you off. That don't make you feel better that they're making a huge, exorbitant amount of money that doesn't make you better either. But you don't. You didn't go through the route of learning how to be an air conditioned guy or a plumber or elect... electrician. You learn to do something else.
So that's the choices that they have now. By the way, the guys who do the actual work, they don't get paid that much. They don't get paid as much as a dump truck driver generally. Unless you live in a union town or state. They don't get paid that much. The owner, that’s who gets paid. So you really have to learn about air conditioning and then become an owner in order to make the money that they're making for the company.
So don't be so mad at the technician wh

Worried about the red light in a bathroom vent? Phil takes one apart to show you what it is.
Evidently, I didn't know there's a complaint on people that rent Airbnb is and such that there are lights pointing to the maybe that somebody is watching them. So if you look up here, you see this red light. Let’s look and see if that's a camera.
Now, you see that right there? That's not a camera. And the reason I know that is because I put this in. There is no camera in there. That is just something they decided to put in to let you know when you got power to it. So I want you guys to rest easy that there is no camera looking at you because there's a little red light there.
Nowadays, they have cameras that won’t have lights. So that doesn't make you feel better, I'm sure. But relax a little bit more. That's not a camera.

Transcript:
Well, if you're wanting to get into your fan, in your exhaust fan for your bathroom slash, wherever there happens to be a fan that pulls out air mostly in the bathroom, you might not know how to get into that. And you might worry oh and pull in on it. It's doing weird feeling, it makes me feel insecure about maybe I'm going to break it.
You pull it down like so and see how it hangs there. If you look at it, there's some slots up in there and this spring type. So these things here, you have to squeeze them together and it keeps it from pulling all the way out of that round part right there. So you squeeze it together and it comes out and you see the slots in there on both sides.
This is where the screws are. But right here, you want to push that together like so. Same with this one. Push it together, and then this. Hang in there again. Now you slide it just to flip. Then you can look in there, see if the fan sometimes the fan motors go out and you can replace those fan motors.
Sometimes you just might want to clean in there. I've seen it where they're pretty full of spider nests and webs, all kinds of stuff. So if you want to get up into your exhaust, your exhaust fan in your bathroom, that's how you do it.

Transcript:
I was told by my boys who were younger than me and probably more in touch with the younger generation or what's going on. Tick tock. But there are some worry about red lights in vents, particularly in the bathroom. This is a fan to pull out the smells and the moisture and there's a light and there's a red light in there. So that might make you think that somebody's spying on you. So let's take a look.
Now, that is just a light, not a camera. There's a light to let you know this thing has power to it. So if the fan goes out, how do I know that? Because I installed this. There is no there is no camera. See... Is that a switch. See, now the power’s off okay. So I want you to relax a little bit more when you're on your vacation, Airbnb or whatever you're doing it for, because that's definitely not a camera.

Do Vanna White. This is not a Vanna White situation in the toilet. The is plugged up and we have some Drano, Max, we're going to try. This time last time we did Liquid Fire, which I’ve had success with and it says to pour a fifth of the bottle. And we're going to give it a shot. It is not what you normally put in a toilet. And then we're going to let it sit for a while and see what happens. We'll come back to you then.
So we gave it a lot of time. And this Drano pro strength max gel didn’t do the job even though you're not... Supposed to. You’re not supposed to put it in the toilet. It's been done. It does work, you know, for other people. But not in this case, it didn’t, and now I've got to deal with all this excess water and maybe the plunger and the Draino together. Here I am, I’d rather have the liquid fire. See you guys.
Took 20%. Let us sit for 20 minutes. Didn't make any difference. We poured the whole bottle in there. It went ahead and did the work. So maybe you ought to pour the whole bottle. Just to let you know, if you want to spend $12 to do that, then there you go. See you.

15:00 2 supports are done
15:45 Want to be careful when rolling the head over
16:10 Leave enough room on the bottom to adjust it if you have to
