In the past I have made some wooden spoons - plain ones and odd/fancy design ones. So, I decided to make some small tea spoons out of some Julatong that I had around.

After using my new PC Table Desk for a while, I noticed that my PC monitor was too low, and did not have a adjustable height setting. So, after measuring, I decided to make myself a monitor stand, in the same style as my PC Desk to fit the"theme" better.

Made some serving boards from left over stock of Kiaat I had. Was quite a fun project to do. However, found out that one of the boards had a hairline crack in it after oiling the board. In the video I show how I remedied it.

For this year's valentine's day, I decided to make a 'valentine spoon' as a gift. I am pretty satisfied how it came out :)

The wood used was Julatong wood, were the carving properties are very close to Bass wood. I decided to also test out how to make a twist curl along the length of the spoon.

Decided to make a new desk/table for my PC system that I work on. Reason for this is that the current setup is becoming too crowded and uncomfortable.

In part 2, I focus on making the legs and support beams, and then to do final assembly of the table. I decided to make the legs modular, so that one can attach and detach them if you want to transport or move the table long distance.

Decided to make a new desk/table for my PC system that I work on. Reason for this is that the current setup is becoming too crowded and uncomfortable.

In part 1, I focus on making the table top itself, with its cross beams. The cross beams will house the legs (which will be at an angle) as well as to restrict the tabletop from cupping.

Decided to make a relatively big box in the style of 16th century with the carved decorations. I also included an inner box, which was called a till at that time, with its own swivel lid.

Wood used was American Red Oak.

Got request to make a book stand for someone. The stand had to be able to adjust the angle. Saw an example in Peter Follansbee's book for a traditional book stand, and decided to use that as an template.

In part 2, the main focus is to finilise all the parts and then begin to assemble each lamp.

I spray painted the lamps with black enamel paint off screen.

I am quite happy with the effect of the cloth and the LED bulbs in the lamp. It really gives off a warming and soft ambiance.

I decided to make a support Jack for my workshop. This is to assist when sawing long boards either cross-cut or ripping.
As for the workbench, this helps in a lot of situations where I have a longish board that needs something to rest on, while the bench hooks holds it in place.
I had a spare thread rod sitting around, and decided to use it to make the Support Jack height adjustable for the specific task/board.

Decided to make a sawhorse for the workshop. Reason was that sometime I have to rip a really long board, which means I have to get up onto my workbench to do it. Also, can be quicker also to cross saw wide boards suing the sawhorse than my workbench.

I decided I wanted to make a Spring Pole Lathe, in order not to have to rely on my electrical lathe. This means it will be easier to work on turning projects as there would be relatively little noise and dust, compared to the electrical lathe.

Part 3 is where I make the final parts and assembling, as well as testing out the lathe by making a rod.

Decided to make a bread box out of some left of Yellow wood that was around. The design is based on old 17th century design, as presented by Peter Follansbee's book. The top and bottom panels are Kiaat wood.

Working with wide boards, normal size gauges makes it impossible to make markings from your reference face. A panel gauge is like a any other gauge, except that it has a very long bar, and of course its body is larger. I decided to make one with a marking blade, as well as a pencil, making it possible to choose which one to use.

Was asked to make a rocking cot for baby dolls, with a certain paint colour. Had some pine boards around the shop which I could use for the project. Unfortunately, when clamping the pieces together, one of the head boards split, due to excess pressure. Fortunately, I could correct it. Paint is an oil enamel paint, so it will be quite durable for hard use.

Although hold-fasts, planing stops, Doe's Foot and croches will enable you to prepare and work with stock for almost any task, sometimes a vise can really make a difference in what one can make and do.
With that said, I decided to add a shoulder vise to the workbench. Initially, I wanted to make a 'Moxon Vise', but decided to save time and material to make the workbench part of the vise.

As part of the ability to plane boards on the workbench, one also needs to be able to plane the sides and end grain of boards. This is where the croche comes into place, by being essentially a 'stop' for boards/planks which is attached to the side of the workbench.
I decided to add a screw to the croche to help out with clamping stock to the side of the bench. The croche can also be sued to help with ripping of stock to thinner pieces, and to plane end grain of wood.

To help with planing boards across their width, I needed a 'Does' Foot', which is a batton like stick with 45 deg angles, placed on the corner of a board.
This helps keep the board from moving. The other side of the Doe's Foot can be used as normal battons for different situations.

For the new 3 meter workbench, first thing I required was a planing stop. I decided to make a sliding full width planing stop, since I had one on my old bench, and it worked really well.
I also decided to try a tooth stop on the other end, to see how it will work. Both sides of the stop can be switched.

I am passionate about traditional woodwork and woodworking methods, as well as the value offered by working and creating by ones hands.

I make various projects using only traditional hand tools and methods – which means no machine work whatsoever from different species of wood.

I also create wooden spoons using hand tools only, with designs varying from traditional to my own creative inspirations.
