Aamu got a new shirt so that she wouldn't need the funnel to protect her bandage. This gives her unlimited freedom to slide in the snow!

Out on Vallda Sandö, Aamu decided she really wanted to roll in the frosty heather. Perhaps some good smell. Perhaps just because.

We've beem at Båtas before, but for some reason we didn't visit the falls. This time we hunted our way to them. No much on the grounds when it came to grouse. Had a few (emphasis few) birds taking to the air, but no chance of getting them. Aamu was a bit frustrated but really loved the gorge and the powering falls. And of course, she saw daddy lose concentration and fall all on his own as well. Good times.

20220928 Aamu Hunts

Since Aamu's right leg was operated and bandaged while healing, we couldn't go on real treks. Aamu found ways to enjoy herself anyway.

Aamu always hopes to find squirrel when we walk the local forest. This walk we had three confirmed ones. However, this was propably only wishful thinking.

Gray and wet day which prevented us from doing a proper trek. Took the local forest and a nearby one as a morning walk instead. Aamu got to see plenty of squirrels, doggos (and played with one), and a black cat crossing the road in front of us. Luckily, Aamu do not think that it causes bad luck for anyone but the cat.

Aamu really finds the local forest pond interesting. Could be that the local red deers are drinking there (or squirrels).

Aamu loves water in all shapes. This includes rapids and white water. I have to make sure she does not jump into Litsjöforsen. I suspect Aamu would not hesitate to do so.

Being cowering inside all the day before due to terrential rain. We decided to brave the weather and go to a nice little lake for hunting. Even though the rain was still coming down, which means that the chances for finding grouse where next to nothing. Aamu got really wet (so did I), but enjoyed the day anyway. We saw some birds (no chance on them) and we prospected a place we've never been at before. So all in all, a good day.

A stormy day on the mountain and the rock ptarmigans (a grouse living up in the mountains) were really hiding from the wind. They flew up right next to my feet, and Aamu was really happy to see anything so she bolted after them (she normally do not care much for them).

Last time we were at Båtas, for some reason, we did not go to the falls. Having rained for 48 hours before, it was quite a lot of water in the river which made it even better. Aamu was really enjoying it, and quite loud as well.

Aamu finds a wind shelter and hopes for us taking a break. Think she was a bit hungry and could possibly also get some treats.

A gray and rainy day. Drizzle coming down from the skies. But that is no reason for not taking a walk with Aamu. We decided to take our Gullringen walk. This is a nice one with several small forests and a pond. We even got the chance to do some agility training, even though Aamu did not take it that seriously.

20221113 Aamu Walks

First day in the autumn Capercaillie hunt in Lapland. We decided to hunt around the Ava Lake Mountain. It was a very gray day and it started good when we pushed a bird while stepping out of the car. However, then we found absolutely nothing until higher up on the mountain. Seems like the birds are lacking this year and we will have to work harder to get them.

Aamu having a true traumatizing experience when she was sitting down pooping. A squirrel ran on the ground in front of her and up in a nearby tree. This could not stand. Aamu had to let her feelings known.

With light rain and wind on a small local hilltop, Aamu decided to play with the smallest of sticks. Well, the view was awesome, Aamu was happy, what more could one crave?

Another dusting of snow during the night, which means Aamu gets more of it. Walking early morning to the dog daycare is a bit brighter (truly need it here up north), but also lifts Aamu's spirits.

A sunny autumn morning we walked to Välen Nature Reserve which is close to home. Aamu was in an awesome mood. Very vocal and generally had a lot to say about everything. She got to play with sticks and trees, took a cold swim in the harbour, and scared some innocent pigeons. A really good day, Aamu thinks.

20221105 Aamu Walks

Hunting in Blaikliden, we had mixed weather. Sun, rain, and wind. Not much grouse on the grounds but Aamu (and I) had a really close encounter with a moose who Aamu surprised on the trail. Makes life more interesting. Lots of marshes and being quite unlucky sneaking in on a bird that Aamu barked. Well, sometime you win...sometimes not. The views of mountain lakes and peaks are still worth it. And Aamu enjoys it greatly.

20220831 Aamu Hunts

Early morning and I am walking Aamu to the Dog Daycare before going to work. This means that I am on a time schedule. Not that it matters to Aamu, since the first snow of the season arrived during the night and there is so much to sniff.

Aamu finds a squirrel and immediately looses it. That doesn't stop her from barking at the trees though while daddy calmly films the squirrel who is sitting eating in a completely different tree.
