Native to South America, Marmosets are tree-dwelling primates that move in a quick jerky manner. Typically about 20 cm long and bearing a resemblance to squirrels, they are amongst the smallest species of monkey. Marmosets are highly active, living in the upper canopy of forest trees, and feeding on insects, fruit, leaves, tack, sap, and gum.

Marmosets live in family groups of up to 15 members, with females almost always giving birth to fraternal twins. Male marmosets are an exceptionally attentive example of fathers within the animal kingdom, going as far as carrying infants and assisting their mates in giving birth.

Phonk has probably come and gone, but it's certainly got an aesthetic.

The "lyrics", if you could call them that, are heavily quantized, nonsense words that result in something like a cross between a distorted incantation and scatting. Imagine a robot hag casting a particularly nasty hex on you, and you've got this.

Spotlight's on the Korg Volca FM2 with this track.

Unlike most of my other tracks, this one had basically no plan. It started with a single element and sort of came together organically. The track has a personality that I can't quite put my finger on, but I love the end result.

Whether you're on the dancefloor, lazing in a smokey room, or gazing at the starry sky, I hope this track means something to you.

When I first heard the original, my jaw hit the floor.
I usually make a habit of remixing Sonic tracks, and I wanted to make this one a little slower and dirtier.
Still... the original IS amazing, and there are other excellent remixes out there.

We all know at that one person. They call themselves "empaths", aspire to be a social media influencer, insufferable saviour complex, etc. You know the type. When I think of someone like that, all I can imagine is this shambling, empty, distorted shell of a person with no real substance.

Over-dramatic? Spiteful? Yeah, probably... but you take inspiration for your music wherever you can get it. I wanted to create something that sounded "troubled" and "weary".

When listening back to this, it's sort of difficult to pin down a certain mood.
I aimed for a bold, mysterious, almost oppressive sound, but at the same time added a sense of playful, intriguing danger.

I won't tell you what kind of image it should put in your mind, but if you're having trouble, try picturing a jacked-up Gorilla blocking your doorway while twirling a hula-hoop.

Trance was the first music style I tried producing over 15 years ago, and I sucked at it. Now? I like to think my technique's improved a fair bit.
This isn't quite trance, not quite EDM, it's... y'know actually, does it really matter anymore?

The vibe I was going for was "melancholy", "bitter", but with a slight tinge of "hope". I guess even Election Days can be inspiring in some ways.

I wanted to channel the vibe from old electro tracks around the mid-to-late 2000's era, with a more modern spin. I wanted the track to sound mean and aggressive... almost "selfish".

The "vocals" are heavily processed sleep-talking. Percussion incorporates a lot of found sounds, particularly from metal logic puzzles. Synthesizers used: Korg NTS-1, FM Drive, Massive X.
