On the surface, Necrocosmos looks like a Metroid clone. But as I played the demo (and sank several hours into it) it became apparent that there was more to this game than just exploring large levels, shooting monsters, and getting lost.

For Quake’s 20th anniversary, Zenimax-owned Machine Games released a semi-official fifth episode for Quake called Dimension of the Past. Quake was originally developed by id Software before id Software was absorbed under the Zenimax umbrella.
Machine Games is the developer behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. That game is an entry into another seminal id Software series, The Wolfenstein franchise.

I put a lot of hours into Shadow Warrior 2 when it was released. I played it solo and online co-op with friends. Between the time I first played Shadow Warrior 2, and when I decided to do a review for it, several patches and free DLC has been released. I have spent a few hours playing the new content and revisiting the old content to prepare for this review.
So, is Shadow Warrior 2 worth buying?
According to Steam, I've put in over 800 hours into Grim Dawn...
Grim Dawn Game Guide:
Ter Shibboleth is a Quake episode from KenChennar. It consists of five huge maps each with their own unique theme: The first map contains a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge and a large resort to explore. Another map, Hypnagogic, uses familiar Quake-style architecture, only it looks like it’s been pushed through Alice’s looking glass, stretched like toffee, and viewed under the influence of hallucinogenic substances. Probably the most impressive map, the last one in the episode, resembles a wild west mining town. This map, especially, made me inspect several areas of the environment just to admire its design.

Vanquish is a fast-paced third person cover-based shooter. Take some of the aesthetic style of Halo’s enemies and apply it to those of this title, unfurl a gimped version of Iron Man’s suit and slap it onto Sam Gideon, the character the player controls, toss in the gameplay of Gears of War and a dash of the action found in bullet hell shooters, and you’ve got a concoction that might resemble Vanquish.
