This is in my opinion the best video I have seen to explain how a woman submitting to a man who is worth submitting to works.
Not every man is submission worthy and not every woman is worthy of a brother' protection as hard headeness and unwillingness to trust a a man's leadership gets a marriage shut down faster than Flash.
Both sexes need to overstand their roles (Ordained by GOD) in order for relationship that is ordained via covenant by GOD followed by the 2 parties becoming 1 will work.
Main point is not many of these ships were ordained by GOD in the 1st place. Many are ordained by lust, idolatry ,how one is seen by others while with them (Trying to impress others) This is also why many ships by men & women fail quickly for stupid reasons. Folks lie to themselves, their partners & even GOD himself at the altar saying he is in & even the head of thier marriage. Especially when they are not even following GOD nor his commands individually. How can they then follow him together? How can folks quote Matthew 19:6 on thier marriage when GOD did not ordain it much less bring the folks together.
Submission starts with GOD then submitting to his order, then the 2 parties operating in his order.
