The manip itself is getting her to go to the right side of the screen so you don't have to walk all the way across if it's unclear. A minor manip can be done with her attacks if you're not too close so the AI tells her to travel further and you can attack her in the air. Of course you can skip this manip if you think it's a waste of time.

This is a glitch which allows you to move when you would otherwise be frozen during the item pickup and levelup animations. It'll probably save you 10 seconds over the current 56% run (100% run of the game in this version).
