I repurposed and converted an old kegerator turned fridge in my garage into a fermentation chamber capable of heating and cooling batches of fermenting wort (beer) up to 10 or more gallons to maintain a desired fermentation temperature even in extremely cold winters and hot summers without having to transport difficult to carry fermenters into my house and down flights of stairs to ferment in the basement. Now, I can just brew in my garage, rack it to fermenter, and toss it into the nearby fermentation chamber. BONUS: It is easily convertible back to a fridge or kegerator if needed.

In my question to make the best Italian Beef sammiches around, hopefully even better than the famous local Chicagoland favorite restaurants such as Johnny's or Al's, I have made another iteration of sous vide cooked beef roast, but this time I sear the roast using the Su-V Gun by @GrillBlazer . It turned out excellent!

Ever want to ferment under pressure? Carboys can't do it, and stainless steel vessels are expensive. Another option? PET (plastic) fermenters! Relatively cheap, they are capable of fermenting beer, cider, or wine under pressure just as well as stainless steel options.
In this video, I review and compare two plastic pressure fermenters; the FermZilla All Rounder and the Fermenter King Gen 3 Snub Nose.

A homemade version of Coors Banquet or Miller High Life beer? Possibly, but WAY better when made fresh at home. This video is about the American Standard Lager beer style; specifically the kind brewed with corn as an adjunct. Beer was pressure fermented to minimize off flavors, gelatin fined for clarity, kegged, carbonated, and ready to drink in just three weeks. It was a hit!

Another video in a series on measuring various variables that affect all grain brewing, this video goes into detail on determining evaporation losses within a mashtun during a mash. This information is useful for beer recipe design by increasing the total amount of brewing water required to account for loss due to evaporation so that your brew day wort volumes align with expectations.

The second installment on determining brewing losses in your brew system, this video covers water/wort losses due to hops absorption in the brew kettle.

Wanting to a handle on the differing grain absorption rates of my various all-grain home brew systems, I did some experiments to determine the real values to use for each type of system when designing a beer recipe so that I can make beer that closer resembles the recipe.

Two types of brewing systems are examined: cooler based mash tuns and brew in a bag (or basket).
