For Halloween at Mjolnir at the Movies this year David Yorkshire and James examine Alter, a YouTube channel and website which hosts submitted independent short horror films. We review a selection of the good, the bad and the unfortunately political.

This episode brings you 13 reviews! Morris dancing! Kafka! And many more tangents! Have a spooktacular Halloween (or Samhain!).

James and David Yorkshire take a look at the website and Youtube channel Dust, a platform for independent film makers of sci-fi fiction to showcase their short films. We analyse a few of the best and most interesting - as well as the worst - films on the Dust platform. We end by reminding people of the good work of independent film maker Michael Kingsbury and urge people to support him.

As the 70th anniversary to George Orwell's 1984 has come around it was decided to review...Brazil (1985). We have a look at this dystopian satire and what it reveals of the qualities Terry Gilliam has as a director, the connections to 1984, how much of it really is satire and who might appreciate and identify with this movie. As always lots of tangents and random banter.

The Mjolnir at the Movies crew are happy to bring you the final part in this Mjolnir at the Miniseries examination of G.B.H. by Alan Bleasdale. This is *part 4 of 4*. We look in on episodes 6 and 7 of the series this time for those following along and we hope you all enjoyed this miniseries.

Originally broadcast in 1991 on Channel 4 (still viewable on their website via the 4 on demand streaming service area which works for UK IP addresses), but otherwise of limited availability (DVDs might be available in your area) and almost forgotten today beyond some with good taste and memories for TV. This is the *second* part in what is planned to be a four part Mjolnir miniseries to discuss this TV miniseries. We'll be back to movies soon (possibly with a movie discussion intermission to break up this miniseries too, to suit the wider audience).

An impressive cast of well known British TV actors are included and some such as Michael Palin that would be recognized internationally. Lead actors Michael Palin and Robert Lyndsey both consider this to be the best or one of the best things they've ever acted in with Michael specifically quoted as saying it was some of the most powerful acting he's ever done. Well worth watching this series before or along with us in these episodes if you can somehow. There will be spoilers! This series should not be forgotten, but over this course of our discussions you might find out why some would want it forgotten...

Welcome to another Mjolnir Magazine crew discussion! This time we're here for an informal chat about paganism, runes, beliefs and how they impact life, culture and a society as a whole. We're joined for this discussion with our special guest for today, Astrid the Red, who brings with her not only insight into her life with these things and how it has been changed by it, but also gives her experience of life in Canada and how things have changed there too over time and in the hands of the current government.

The crew are back again with another movie review this week to give a brief intermission before we continue with the second half of the GBH miniseries. This time we're looking at the classic Chariots of Fire (1981). A fantastic story and a film that was also lucky enough to have some of Vangelis's finest as part of it, giving it a musical theme that can match the quality of the story themes this delivers. We hope you enjoy this episode.

There is only the Rake, and he is our shield and protector.

The leaf grows from idleness. Inspiration grows from the handle of a rake. Victory needs no explanation, defeat allows none.

Strap yourself in for a wild ride of bizarre with this first part of the (potential) series. I felt it best to offer this digest of clips with minimal commentary so as to enjoy it your own way. Especially as it's so out there it'd be like gilding the lily if I added much to it.

Had a flash of inspiration from a YT video and decided to share. Just shows that sometimes it isn't entirely limited to a passive online-only world. :D Sometimes a change of pace and activity can do you good and making something you can touch and experience in the real world is good too.

100% professional camera work here, of course. Shaky cam is fashionable. Honest. M. Night Shyamalan will be looking to me for the next good movie for certain. The surprise twist ending in this one is that there is no twist. Or I am a time traveling robot. Or something. Please also admire my amateurish pixel art which had to be done for some reason.

With luck perhaps this thing will do me some good too...

Cheers Astrid!

Examining The Matrix Reloaded, a movie that is worse in every way than the first, which already set a low bar. Why does a whole civilization lack artistic expression? Who would design a people this way in fiction deliberately or by sloppiness?

Also looking at some other poorly conceived or realized elements within the movie too, such as props, costumes and sets.
