In Galatians 3:28 we are taught that our race, our sex and even our jobs every day make no matter to God. We are ultimately taught that ALL lives matter to God, and to His son. We also consider scripture such as Jeremiah 1:5 and Luke 12:7 and bring to our minds the degree of God's knowledge of who we all are so that all of will come to realize that all lives matter- not just our own.

The term "repent" is unfamiliar to most people, including most Christians. What does it mean? How important is it? What do we need to do? And what did Jesus say about repentance?

Imagine the scene-- a paralyzed person lying on a bed. Jesus forgives his sins, which angered the religious leaders. Then Jesus asked: "Which is easier to say- 'Your sins are forgiven', or 'pick up your bed and walk'?" It's an interesting question with many implications about who Jesus really was and what He could (and would) do!

One book in the New Testament tells the story of the early church, and of early evangelism. It tells how people approached God and were saved. It tells about controversy, and contains shipwreck, beatings, a public riot and even an apostle on trial for his life. Yet the book is mostly ignored today, because much of its teachings and examples are at odds with what is being taught in churches. The author challenges all Christians to read the book and consider what it has to say.

Jesus had much to say about prayer, from providing a basic outline of prayer through discussions about improper prayers that He had both heard and observed. Prayer is how we connect with God and tell Him what's in our heart and it's one of the best ways we can draw closer to God. The presenter discusses Jesus' teachings on prayer and points the viewer to other scriptures for additional reading and consideration in order to help us be more effective in our prayers.

Arguments accomplish nothing-- but they can create permanent rifts between friends and family members. We don't have to argue, and we don't have to allow strong discussions to turn into arguments. Using Biblical principals, sound logic (and many years of practical experience) the presenter discusses how to keep arguments from even occurring. We particularly recommend this to parents and to married couples.

It was a very busy day. Jesus had spend the day teaching as well as healing the sick. After nightfall, they all got into a boat to sail over to the other side of The Sea of Galilee-- but a tremendous storm arose which came close to drowning them all- while Jesus was still asleep. They wakened Him, and He spoke three words.

His immediate dissipation of the storm and calming of the sea remains one of His most noteworthy miracles. It's a fascinating story that continues to amaze people even today.

Making your words trustworthy to others is a vital part of Christian living. In Matthew chapter 5 Jesus says we should make our "yes" to be "yes" and our "no" a "no." What does this really mean in practical terms? The presenter gives other Biblical passages to read and consider.

There's a common misconception that today's Christians are commanded to give 10% of their earnings to God. While this was a teaching in the Old Testament, it no longer applies today. The presenter discusses some New Testament scriptures that discuss why the old law teachings no longer apply, as well as discussing how each Christian should think carefully and decide for themselves.

In James 4 we are told "Draw closer to God, and He will draw closer to you." Many turn to God out of fear; some for the reward. But the mature Christian draws closer because they love God and don't want to disappoint Him. Drawing closer to God isn't difficult- but it does require some steps we need to take. The presenter provides some scriptures for suggested additional readings and consideration.

In I Corinthians 12, the human body is used as a comparison against the local church. It speaks of individual members of the body- the eye, the ear, etc. - as being highly important to the rest of the body. It reminds us that we all have an important local role to play, and we can all contribute! Other passages of scripture are also provided for the viewer to consider.

Jesus, on trial for His life in front of Roman Governor Pontius Pilate, was asked "What is truth?" by Pilate. Several hours later, Jesus was dead-- crucified by Pilate's Roman soldiers. Pilate was shortly thereafter recalled to Rome in disgrace for mismanagement. But his question "What is truth?" remains a vital one, and the presenter points the viewer towards other Bible passages to consider. As much as we don't want to admit it, we all judge others based upon appearances. James chapter two describes the problem in the early church. But when we look at Jesus, he treated EVERYONE well- he connected with people of all classes, and all backgrounds-- many of whom were desperately in need of His help. Thoughts from Ross Statham, one of the Bible class teachers of the Chipley Church of Christ in the western Florida panhandle.

For the second time, and shortly before His death, Jesus threw out the sellers and money changers from the temple. When the representatives of the Chief Priest asked Him "by what authority do you do this?", Jesus answers with a parable about a farmer and his two sons, who worked for him. He told both to go work in his field-- one said he wouldn't-- but did. The other said he would- but didn't. Presenter and Bible class teacher Ross Statham discusses this and suggests further reading in this and in other passages.

Just minutes before Jesus died, He said "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" Those at the time speculated that He was "calling out for Elijah." But what He was actually doing was quoting the opening lines of the 22nd Psalm. Presenter Ross Statham discusses the implications and suggests additional reading.

Jesus and the Bible have much to say about riches and fame-- as well as what it means to lead a quiet and peaceable life, far away from the limelight, and far away from the so-called "centers of power." But here's a hint- the Bible has very little positive things to say about either one!

In the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5-7, Jesus points out that while God said to "love your neighbor", it was men who had added "and hate your enemy". Jesus went on to speak specifically to who our neighbor really is-- with implications that are just as relevant today as they were 2000 years ago.

In Luke chapter six, Jesus uses a parable of two builders-- one who built a house upon a "rock solid" foundation, and one who did not spend the time to do so. When the floodwaters arose against both houses- just as they always do in our lives-- one withstood the onslaught. Why? What does Jesus mean about building on "the rock"? The presenter provides some other Biblical references for you to consider.
