We were near the front of the march. When we got to the rear of the Capitol building there was virtually no security, and people were already on the lookout tower using a bullhorn to direct people to come forward and fill in the gaps.

Listen closely at 3:15 and you can hear a guy in front of us and to the right say, “We need to go to the tunnel”. My friend was unsettled by the guy and what he said. You can hear us discussing it afterward. Did something happen in the tunnel?

We were near the Jumbotron that was between the Washington monument and the stage. It was cold that morning!

The rear of the Capitol. Tons of people back there peacefully protesting, and I was only worried about getting shot with a rubber bullet or tear gassed. We found out about the break-in, shooting and bomb threat from folks as we were walking away from the protest. We had no idea. As we walked we could see the people at the front entrance to the Capitol. I was surprised that there were protesters at the front as well. We walked by several FBI agents and a lot of police. They had a couple of those remote control anti bomb robots parked nearby. It took a long time to get to the hotel because of all of the street closures. Police at every intersection. Later the National Guard began patrolling the streets.

I took video snapshots of the Jan 6 March to the Capitol. We left to go look for some hot chocolate before Trump finished his speech. The line for hot chocolate was way too long and we started walking toward the Capitol just as the president was finishing his speech.
