#glutenfree #buckwheatsoba #homemade

500g organic buckwheat flour
220-250g spring water

Every soba making experience is a lesson. I love soba noodles a lot but many have white flour mixed which makes it not gluten free. Though I am not gluten intolerant, when I have the pure buckwheat noodles, my body feels light, healthy and happy. So I decided to learn how to make them when I was in Japan both in Tokyo and Kyoto from a few teachers. Asako san lives in Tokyo and her family makes and teaches soba making. It is said that it takes 10 years to become a soba master. However if I can learn a skill and keep my stomach happy whenever I want to eat healthy soba noodles, it will be the best gift ever to myself and those around me.

Health benefits of buckwheat soba includes weight management, easy digestion, gut health, good source of plant protein and gluten free!

One of my top 5 favorite Asian cuisines is the Vietnamese #Pho (besides Malaysian Tempeh Laksa, Hakka Thunder Tea Rice aka Ancient Herbal Veg Grain Bowl, Japanese buckwheat soba and Natto), which can be found around the world in Asian restaurants as well. I have tried several versions of vegetarian/ #vegan #pho and tried to make special request if possible for my soup to be free from any bullion cubes or msg. Often times, soup broth becomes plain when flavor enhancers were left out.

To satisfy myself, though this might not taste like restaurant's food, I decided to go ahead and make own vegan version of Pho with whatever ingredients I like--- diy vegetable soup broth, homegrown garden herbs and vegetables as well as home sprouted mung beans. I am happy with the result and enjoyed my own simple Pho 🍲. Pease forgive me if you are a Pho specialist and feel this is not traditionally authentic enough. :)

Ingredients needed for #vegan #egg:

Egg white
1 cup plant based milk (cashew/hemp/ almond)
Some black salt
1 heap spoon of plant based agar agar

Dissolve agar agar into plant based milk and boil it on medium heat for few minutes. Make sure it is well dissolved. Then pour mixture into half egg mould. You can purchase this on eBay.

Next, set in fridge for 20-30 mins. Prepare egg yolk.

Egg yolk
Step 1
Mash chickpeas and mix with either some coconut yogurt (probiotics) or silk tofu (subtle on taste and palette).

Step 2
Add in black salt, superfood black maca powder, olive oil, chilli oil (optional), nutritional yeast (optional) and turmeric powder and mix well. I used Stardust’s superfood yellow powder that comes with turmeric, cinnamon, mango, nutmeg, ginger and pepper. It’s warming on the system and gave the yellow needed for color of egg yolk.

*Black salt is the key to the egg taste for both white and yolk.
*Black maca powder (superfood famous for hormonal health, energy and stamina, immune system, skin health etc).

This vegan egg can go with many dishes, ramen, salads or as it is and is a playful addition at the dining table.

#Pickled #sweet #salty #cherryblossoms

Cherry blossom flowers
Organic plum vinegar
sea salt

1.Wash the freshly collected sakura flowers in spring water gently
2. Dry them with dry towel.
3. Sprinkle some sea salt over them and place a cling wrap over them.
3. Press a weight on top of the flowers for 2-3 days.
4. Remove weight and squeeze out excess water gently with both hands.
5. Place them in a jar of organic vinegar for two days. I used plum vinegar.
6. Remove the flowers one by one from jar for natural drying for another few days.
7. After dried, put the flowers in a dry container and cover them generously with sea salt.
8. Store and use whenever needed.

Spring is so immensely beautiful and to capture her beauty and gift is like receiving a sacred blessing. Cherry blossoms are harvested where we live and pickled naturally using celtic sea salt, local spring water, organic plum vinegar, natural sun and lots of love.

#Koji and #tempeh #fermentation at home.

Tempeh is a frugal fermented food widely seen in Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan made primarily with any beans you like and fermented over 48 hours depending on location and season. A vitamin B12 rich bean cake that is much cheaper to make at home than buying. High amount of protein, vitamins and minerals as well as decrease cholesterol levels, bone health, improve digestion and reduce inflammation.

Koji mold(Aspergillus oryzae) is widely used in Japan and China to make alcoholic beverages like sake or shochu as well as used for fermenting miso, soy sauce, mirin, amazake etc...

I used:
Koji starter from Nourish me Organics.
Tempeh starter from Nourish me Organics.

❄️ #Springwater, #smoothie and #juicing 🌿

August is
Too early for the sun
After rain water gushes
Wisdom so musical
Divine as she is
Spring water I adore you.

Ever since I got into drinking spring water, I simply cannot get off it. It just taste like ambrosia. So much so I can no longer tolerate the taste of normal filtered water nor tap water. Spring water gives life and aliveness and connects you right to the heartbeat of Mother Earth. A relationship that is healing and has to be healed. A connection that somehow got lost along the way and urges to be found again.

Superfood smoothie with spring water:
Spring water
Pine pollen (teelixir)
Medicinal mushroom powders (Superfeast)
E3 live blue majik spirulina
Avocado (optional)
Coated silver

Don’t live your life in a mobile phone. It’s too flat. Engage in the grand Life happening around you... to see, to hear, to taste, to laugh, to feel, to touch, to love.

It is and will always be Love that keeps humans whole and healthy; no matter what. Smile with your heart; from your heart, with your eyes; through your eyes. Love thyself. Without self love, you can’t love.

#mountainlife #winter #diy #vegantoothpowder

DIY healthy, cheap and natural toothpaste. I have been using homemade tooth powders for almost five years now and is a healthier and cheaper alternative to a normal conventional toothpaste and works great at whitening teeth as well as cleansing your mouth and maintaining oral hygiene the natural way. Activated coconut charcoal is highly absorbent and pulls toxins from your mouth including stains on your teeth.

"Aranya" is used widely in Asia to describe a peaceful silent abode (usually in the mountains) where monks and spiritual practitioners reside in ancient times for meditation and cultivations.

Bliss Pure Foods came from my name. Kathryn means purity and Sunantha means bliss. To maintain bliss and purity in each and every of my personal encounter with food is my dream.
A nature lover and enjoy making healthy simple foods by hand and growing my own garden.
Telegram is my main social media platform and occasionally making food videos for fun and sharing on YouTube and now Bitchute.
Believe in simplicity and the innocence and purity of vegetables grown with integrity and love.
Food making is a spiritual practice and the people who will benefit first and the most from our hardwork and self effort are always our own family, friends and beloved ones.

I used to want to change the world. Now, I only want peace, harmony and improve myself continuously so that I can become of benefit to those whom I have a karmic connection with.

Am also a believer of the law of impermanence. No matter how well I take good care of myself, I will not escape death. No one escapes death. Yet, this doesn't mean pessimism. Because of impermanence, I want to enjoy life fully and celebrate life joyfully. If I cannot help others, I vow not to harm them. This is my little philosophy in life.

My main language is English and can speak and read Mandarin, Tibetan and Japanese.
Often travel home to Singapore/Malaysia. Also Japan and Taiwan. Based in Blue Mountains now.
