The Whippet, a British tank of World War I, was first produced in 1917. It was intended to complement the slower British heavy tanks & use its greater mobility and speed in exploiting any break in the enemy lines. Whippets later took part in several of the British Army's postwar actions, notably in Ireland, North Russia and Northeast China.

The Sherman Firefly was a British variant of the American Sherman tank, fitted with the powerful British 17-pounder anti-tank gun as its main weapon. Originally a stopgap until future British tank designs came into service, the Firefly became the most common vehicle with the 17-pounder in the war.

The Supermarine Seafire was a development of the Spitfire to generate a high performance carrier-based fighter aircraft. It was somewhat compromised in service by an undercarriage that was not designed to handle the carrier landings, the Seafire nevertheless gave valuable service throughout its operational life.
