Just released on Gaming-Alexandria!
https://www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2020/01/19/cooly-skunk-snes-unreleased/

This is a "demo" of a game that ultimately never saw a full release on Super Famicom - Cooly Skunk, which you may recognize as being like the Playstation game "Punky Skunk". Although it is a demo, it is a pretty prolonged one with 3 "Worlds" in length, and the autodemo even shows levels you can't normally access in gameplay! Just how far along was this? According to the article, even the final game and end credits are in this, suggesting that this may well be complete!

Thanks for watching! As with all YouTube channels, likes, subscriptions and comments are welcome - but I presume that is to be expected, yes?

A demo of the first Street Fighter III release for Dreamcast, which included both New Generation and Second Impact: Giant Attack.

For both games, Arcade and Vs. mode are available with all base player characters and a single match.

Thanks for watching! As with all YouTube channels, likes, subscriptions and comments are welcome - but I presume that is to be expected, yes?

A 5-minute demo of Bandai's Japan-only frog-golf game.

The time limit makes it difficult to reach every possible course accessible, though at least in Dolphin you can extract the .tgc to play through the entirety of it (Not shown in this video).

A demo of the game localized as Dynamite Cop. Actually, the demo is pretty similar to that localization's demo, but there is one notable difference - it ends on an extended FMV promoting the game, rather than just cutting off.

I couldn't get this to run smoothly on demul on my setup (the sound always chokes) so I ran this on NullDC instead, which leads to some more graphical problems, but I'll take one or two visual hiccups over constant noise slowdown.

Thanks for watching! As with all YouTube channels, likes, subscriptions and comments are welcome - but I presume that is to be expected, yes?

Ah, someone at TOSEC provided when I said I wanted a Dreamcast Capcom Vs. SNK Taikenban, as opposed to that Playstation one. Ahh, this feels much better! Well, sorta.

The playable character roster is way more restrictive (Blanka, Cammy, King and Benimaru for 1-Ratio, and Ryu and Kyo for 2-Ratio), and there's only 1 Vs. CPU match for a demo. Thankfully, there's some distinct demo-only graphics and elements to make up for this.

Thanks for watching! As with all YouTube channels, likes, subscriptions and comments are welcome - but I presume that is to be expected, yes?

So I thought "Hey, what if I tried the Japanese version of the Sonic Adventure 2 demo?" Hah, sucks for me! It's so the same, it's even in English subtitles like the USA demo!

To make up for this (Or perhaps to express my disappointment), I caused a winpose cancel bug at the goal ring.

OW MY EARS.

This is the March 9, 1994 proto of SOR3 from Hidden-Palace, which seems to be among the protos overlooked by the crew there.

This is a localization prototype.

It's pretty decently far along, but the attract demo glitches out at some points where text is meant to appear. Also, the script is typo-laden. I spotted several even without going in to see the best ending. Some of these errors persist into later prototype buiilds.

Axel still has his white shirt from the Japanese version in this build, though his portrait shows the yellow one he will have by final.

The builds fluctuate on difficulty level, suggesting that trying to figure out the difficulty balance was one of the last thing decided upon. Personally, I feel like that part with the walls was not properly balanced in difficulty compared to other parts (It seems nearly impossible to get through it undamaged, making it feel unfair.). Later builds fluctuate being between being easier, and being harder!

I did not get to check to see if the localization-specific "Easy mode" bad ending has been implemented yet.

It's been a while since I highlighted something from kukun kun's uploads, but this one seemed to be well-noted on Twitter, so I'll put it up here as well.

These brief snippets of a "Focus Test Version" of Sonic Adventure 2 show, well, nothing too dramatically different, although people seem to be hearing some strangeness when White Jungle shows!

Some more SA2 footage plays a few episodes later, but it's no longer Focus Test Version by then.

So when I checked Hidden-Palace's video for the World of Illusion proto, I noticed that they didn't fiddle around with Stage Select much. I decided to try seeing if I can have Mickey and Donald in places they aren't supposed to be, and see what happens.

4-M is clearly the most bugged out when trying to change the character. Otherwise, a lot of things don't change that dramatically.

I also try going into the 2-player coop stages as single-player, using the game's free movement to get past the otherwise unpassable portions.

A demo that used to be on the Hidden-Palace Wiki. This is for the "Super Mario" game that would become Super Mario 3D Land. It has four levels, mostly selected from world 2, and shows off standard, athletic, underground and airship stages.

This was recorded in Citra's internal recorder. It ran slow as mollasses, so that's affected my gameplay.

An early prototype of the unreleased Sega Mega Drive adaptation of Akira!

Developed by Black Pearl Software sometime in late 1993 for a planned released in 1995, this game attempted to do a faithful adaptation of the original film by presenting various key scenes from the film in unique ways. The game features first person shooting, racing, platforming, and beat-em up segments to help illustrate the various points in the movie's story. Thought to have been lost since its initial debut in various media as well as the Summer Consumer Electronic Show (SCES 94) in 1994, an early prototype has been discovered and is presented for the first time in full!

A huge thank you goes to Matsuda and an anonymous donor for giving us an opportunity to preserve and share this wonderful gem! Enjoy!

I feel like one general trend with Sonic 2 is that, for the most part, once you actually get the sound patches in for the music, it actually sounds mostly decent?

The ending song actually still goes in quite well, at least.

So in this part I manage to make some leeway into the cave.

I also decide that my 2p partner is pretty good for a quick suicidewarp to Pioneer 2.

I wonder if I'm ready to take on those Hildebears...?

Unfortunately, after this part, I had an emulator crash, so it'l be a bit of a delay before the next one happens.

hidden-palace article;

this is gonna be a looonnnggg one.

I struggled with figuring out how to handle the multiplayer setup here, but I think for now it's gonna just be me grinding out a single character while the other one just idles. (There's no single-player mode in this trial edition)

In this part, I get through a lot of the forest, but hildebears really get get me down, so I try experimenting in the caves and mines, which are for some reason accessible right off the bat in this version!

Nearly forgot this one.

There we go, now all of them are saved.

So it's been a while since I examined a Gamecube game, so I went through Hidden-Palace, and saw Togemet2's proto of Bloody Roar: Primal Fury.

This appears to be a late localization proto - there's no obvious gameplay differences, and the voice acting is intact. However, I did spot one minor difference on beating Arcade Mode the first time:

1) The Ganesha unlock message does not refer to his stage, even though that is unlocked along with him. This is corrected in the final game.

(BTW, this is being run on Dolphin, apologies for the occasional stutters.)

I probably won't dig into this much further, but any further differences spotted will be appreciated!

Here, have another one of these.

Competition menu is probably one of the lesser-affected songs. As such, it still sounds fairly decent in the Sega Smash Pack for Dreamcast conversion.
