11.5 inches tall (29cm) including the base.

Printed on the Moai 130 SLA Printer with the tail and base printed on the Creality Cr10 V2.

The Moai uses UV Reactive resin making the results rather stunning under a blacklight. In order to get natural light reflectiveness the piece is not hollow and uses a clear backfilled UV resin introduced with a syringe and cured under UV light.
It's hard to track the 3d models origin as there are so many variations out there. The piece I was able to get a hold of was deconstructed and modeled very well for 3d printing and assembly. I would love to give the individual credit, and all I can say is that it wasn't a thingiverse find.

Peopoly Model Blue Resin.
Reinforced with Jewelers UV Hard resin.
Creality White Filament.
SunTop Silk Red Filament.
7mm Modeling grass

Ground terrain & effects made by me.

I would love to find a blue/pink color changing filament.

The next part of assembly for the bottle. Beautiful gold results on the EVA foam so let's put it together.
We're in the moddle of fighting Covid, and I hope you're doing well. I have lost the light of my life and miss her in ways I didn't think possible.

Trying a new video format. Just a nice, short, build video where I do things instead of talk.
You can watch me use techniques and create the best gold you can imagine on foam. Though, the end result is not to have such a robust gold and allow it to age so it appears more green.

In the movie, it has an aged appearance in most scenes. This may be due to lighting, but my attempt is to reproduce what you see on the screen.

The weather was nice so I took a few glamor shots outside to show off the finish.
The scabbard and sword are both made of wood, the golden diamond was cast in resin from a handmade mold, and the green straps are made of leather.
The scabbard was painted with Duplicolor paints except for the gold, that was finished with Rustoleum Bright Coat after the experiment I posted in an earlier video.
The sword was finished with Testors paints and lacquers. Both pieces were weathered with a 'gently used' adventurers finish, no rusting, but was given grass stains and a dusting of color giving the appearance of dirt.

The term Bench Cookie is trademarked and is a neat item that you should probably get for yourself. But I don't have the extra cash currently and need a different shaped Bench Cookie and additional padding. The trademarked Bench Cookie is used for finished products to keep them on a soft surface. This prevents scratches and accidental damage to a finished product.

The rest of these supplies are really basic pieces that you should already have if you make your own cosplay pieces!

The results are in! I was a little surprised with the outcome.
I discovered Model Master Metalizer from Punished Props and it wasn't as effective as I hoped. I might need to see where it actually works, but what did work in this test is interesting.

I do not get any kick backs on these links, I just shrunk them to make it easier for you to see them.

The test: Which paint and which protective coating will allow me to keep the metal quality of the rattle-can AND apply a high quality coating!

I chose as many different kinds of paint that I could find for this test. Each can of Rust-Oleum was chemically different but all the cans of different Krylon was chemically the same. So this is why I chose the spread you see in the vid.
I did not do a lot of research on the chemical makeups of the cans, using the logic that different is different. The hope is that when everything is dry only the pigment is left behind and the chemical compositions won't matter.
A big HOWEVER to that is latent reactions that I can't predict. So I'm just going forward with the test to see what happens.

Another thing I want to mention is that I have heard a lot of complaints about Rust-Oleum paints. Personally, I have never experienced the issues mentioned but when we go over the chemical propellants it might explain why people have issue. The solvents and propellants will react with the material you spray onto. You can see it happen over time as the spray paints eat the mask I made and end up turning it into goo.

I will finish this video by the end of Christmas. Next video when I wake up!

Goofy music, bad camera angle, and me working my lathe!

This mug is for a give-away, so I tried to get some public domain music and have a goofy time with it, It's not an impressive video and there are hundreds out there that do the exact same thing. I'm just making a mug! The give away is to help promote my Patreon page. The winner will get to choose the customization. And then they will get the mug! You don't need to be a Patreon supporter to participate, that just improves the quality of what I give away.

I do a lot of video tutorials and inside looks about what I do. I make stuff, swords, armor, mugs, rings, and just about anything that is cosplay and collectables!

I work with leather, wood, foam, warbla, aluminum, brass, lots of paint and primer, and there are two things that I can't stand; Hot Glue and Cardboard Boxes. No project should ever be made of hot glue and shipped in a cardboard box.
