Gothic is a brilliant open-world game about a guy who gets thrown into a prison colony and has to mug and rob people until he has enough money to fulfill the noble quest of releasing a bunch of convicted felons out to the countryside. He'll overcome every obstacle imaginable, from homeless drunks guarding roughly 100 pence, to druidic fireballs falling out of the sky and blowing things up. I experienced this atrocity so you don't have to.
