"I have just one more final unsettling tale to add to these memories of the house in Belgrave Square, and although it is the scariest, and probably one of the most fearfully-spent nights in my life, I bid you to not expect too much thrill, and much less in the way of an explanation."

This song mentions Dover, because of the original song I was copying and what's going on now in Dover.
But in reality, it stands for what is happening all over Europe, on the islands and coasts of Italy, Greece, Spain, England, Ireland, etc.
LYRICS:
There'll be boats crossing over
The coast around Dover
Tomorrow, just you wait and see
There'll be selfies and laughter
An easy life hereafter
Now that everything is free
The homeless are on the streets
The people now count their cents
While whole hotels are seized
So the newcomers get their beds
There'll be fickle words laid over
Empty promises from their
Ivory tower cruelty
Beware if you disagree
You may just lose everything
But we'll have our pensions paid
By the vibrant youth, they say
There'll be boats crossing over
Non-stop, through Dover
Tomorrow, just you wait and see.
This video type is not for everyone, indeed it will probably be boring for most. So I have linked the video and articles that I am looking at in the video. For those who just want the facts in 5 minutes and not 30 minutes of practicing new French words! :)
Apologies for the camera, darkness, noise and my French. :)

***At 15:25, "they deserve everything" was my own sarcastic comment. That does not appear in the article. ***
***Also, there is a really annoying echo for ONE MINUTE at the very end. Really sorry about that, but it took 12 hours to render and I just don't have the time to fix it and re-export. *** :(

This was written in 1872!
By the wonderful Susan Coolidge, author of the fantastic "What Katy Did" books.
“Nippy told her audience (which they had not known before) that they had always been abused and unhappy.
She reminded them with great eloquence how the largest nuts were apt to fall to the lot of the male squirrels, who were usually up and at work early of mornings, while their wives slept; how fathers of families were apt to go sky-larking off into the woods, leaving their partners at home with nests full of little ones; how they came back late at night and disturbed the house; and many other things.
So pathetic was the picture that, before the lecture ended, most of the company were in tears.
The gentlemen, who had been sitting in distant trees meanwhile, trying to look as if they didn’t know that anything was going on, but secretly wild with curiosity, were confounded when, at the end of the discourse, all the squirrelesses came trooping home slowly and sadly, with tails in their eyes, and not a skip or bound among them.
That night nothing but sobs and recriminations were heard among the boughs."
This is the release of the first baby swift that I have taken care of this year.
I have another five currently.
I do this in conjunction with a veterinary clinic and rescue centre.
If you find a swift, please seek professional help.
Baby swifts are insectivorous and need a very specific diet.
They can be raised on insects (mealworms and cricket abdomens), but must under no circumstances be fed dog food, cat food or any other pet food.
This will either kill them or cause them to develop in such a way that they can never be freed and would have to be put to sleep.

This song does not aim to make light of the virus or the resulting economic hardship.
This is not a criticism of quarantine in itself, but highlighting some hypocritical aspects, namely:
- Prisoners being set free, while people who break quarantine are being threatened with jail time and fines.
- Certain areas and communities are not having lockdown enforced, while otherwise law-abiding people are being cracked down on.
- Most people have very restricted movement, meanwhile large amounts of people are being moved around, e.g. around 100 asylum seekers, some of whom are known to be infected with Covid-19 were moved to Cahirsiveen, a small town in Kerry, Ireland that has a large proportion of elderly people.
- Many people are out of work and facing serious financial hardship for the foreseeable future. However, foreign workers are being flown in to Ireland and the UK for work such as fruit picking. Apparently many native applicants were turned down or ignored.
(Keelings in Ireland has come under fire for flying in Bulgarian workers. They say they need these experienced horticultural specialists. Many people are now boycotting Keelings' products.)

This Covid's taken all my dough
And locked me in my stately home
Pacing on a sunny afternoon
And I can't even cough
Without some panic kicking off
All I've got's this funny sense of doom
Set them, set them set the prisoners free
But if I put one foot wrong, they'll throw the book at me
And just a few are exempt, it seems,
From this life of quarantine
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime
In the Covid times
It's a no-good time
Policemen stop me in my car
Two kilometres? Too far
Airport's open, bussing in the workers
Now I'm sitting here
Social distance goes with beer
Gazing on a sunny afternoon
Tell me, tell me, tell me please explain
Well if it's the season, why is it they say
That I can't go picking strawberries?
I don't have the skills you see
Locked in on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime
In the Covid times
They're some no-good times
Ah, save me, save me, save me from this disease
Cart infected people to Cahirsiveen
And how can we get this vaccine
If we didn't get the other 18?
It's a little late for April fools
In the summertime
Can't afford a fine
Thanks to Chinese lies
In the summertime
Make the most of your time
