Another very important Bob song for these times, out on a beautiful winter's day.

*apologies for the mic/wind lo-fi situation ☺️

My take on the amazing and overlooked Beatles track "It's All Too Much".

Remember hearing this song blasting out at a fairground, or at the Shows as we called them in Scotland, when I was 8 years old.

The new version of "Nobody Wants You To Be Free" follows on from the first SoulJahm recording from 2012. Then we were travelling and the only instrumentation we had was acoustic guitar, hand drum and percussion. This version is how I always heard the song in my head, a kind of punky 60s garage rock sound.

As a young boy in the 1980s my Mum used to play the Phil Collins version of this song from the Buster soundtrack. I only recently discovered The Mindbenders version which I really like.

An updated version of "Christmas (C'mon)" for 2018. We recorded the last version in 2011 on a laptop with little else whilst travelling Europe. This time round I was able to record with better instrumentation and better mixing tools.

A fresh 2018 recording of a previously unreleased track, "Secret Life" dates back to the year 2000 when it was written.

The original demo recording of "Midnight" from 2003, which is a song I wrote that same year. It could have ended up on the 'One Way Ticket' album but I held off. It took another 15 years until I got round to recording it properly.

A cover of a beautiful song I only recently came across by Teenage Fanclub, which prompted me to check out more of their stuff. I knew of them but somehow they missed my radar in the 90s while I gravitated towards bands they influenced like Travis.

The final song from the set recorded on 25th September 2010, an early version of "Why Do You Run".

Another song from the same Jordan Lane set, back in September 2010, only a few weeks before packing up and leaving for Europe.

Came across this acoustic recording of "Give Thanks and Praises" by Bob Marley. We recorded this around the time of my 31st birthday and only a few weeks before we left for Europe in October 2010, in the flat we lived in on Jordan Lane, Morningside.

This was the second song we recorded on the 4-track as a trio back in the autumn/winter of 2013. Mark on bass, Kate on harmony and percussion and I sang and played acoustic guitar, overdubbing the piano and electric guitar afterwards.

Another one of the tracks we recorded back in April 2015.

I had just returned from Europe weary and battered around a few months before this after losing Kate. This was the period I started to build the Music again from pretty much nothing. It started with a few rehearsal sessions like this in April 2015 with my brother Mark.

A rough rehearsal take of "Where Are The People" from May 2017 with my brother Mark on bass.
