That charge comes amid an unprecedented and coordinated effort behind the riots, the likes of which have never been seen before and which span across multiple states and involve often violent street-level tactics.
Officials from both sides say that outside groups have exploited the recent momentum to further their own agenda. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, noted that “bad actors continue to infiltrate the rightful protests” and that 80 percent of the rioters have come from outside the state. In the past few days, several cities have seen chaotic rioting. Cars and buildings have been torched, looting is rampant and even the Third Police Precinct in Minneapolis was burned as officers abandoned the building. More is to come.
The protests began ostensibly because of the death of George Floyd during an arrest. Systemic racism and police brutality, leftist pundits argue, is to blame.
Some leftists are claiming, as they did during the Occupy Wall Street movement, that the protests have been hijacked by a violent element intent on discrediting the movement.
Conservative commentators, on the other hand, speak of frustration and rage, of a reaction to the claustrophobia of weeks on end lock-down.
They all miss the mark.
The violence since the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis is a communist inspired insurrection—nothing more, nothing less.

The Russia collusion investigation led by then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller was artificially prolonged in the hope that President Donald Trump would move to terminate it and thus be accused of obstruction of justice, according to former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker.
Whitaker, who led the Department of Justice (DOJ) between Nov. 7, 2018, and Feb. 14, 2019, said that, in his opinion, the Mueller team acted inappropriately to create an “obstruction of justice trap” for Trump and his officials.
Former FBI Director Mueller was appointed by then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in May 2017 to take over an FBI counterintelligence investigation to determine whether the 2016 Trump campaign colluded with Russia to sway the election.
By March 2019, Mueller had wrapped it up, saying the probe was unable to establish that any such collusion took place.
Mueller, however, already knew this in 2018, Whitaker told Jan Jekielek, host of The Epoch Times’ “American Thought Leaders” series.
Soon after taking command at the DOJ, Whitaker was briefed “on the contours and what was the Mueller investigation,” he said.
“There was no evidence of any criminal conspiracy or connection or collusion, whatever you want to call it, between the Trump campaign, members of the Trump campaign—including Donald Trump—and the Russian government. So, therefore, the primary and sole purpose of that investigation had essentially failed to generate any evidence, and it was clear that that had been known for some time.”
Keeping such an investigation open isn’t the “regular order at the Department of Justice,” according to Whitaker. He offered a theory as to why it happened.

The Chinese regime’s latest move to impose a national security law on Hong Kong will lead to the end of the city’s autonomy, say activists and experts. They warn that if Beijing is not stopped, it will only be emboldened to take stronger action to bring the city under its control.
Beijing’s announcement last week that it would pass a national security law for Hong Kong—bypassing the city’s own legislature—has attracted international condemnation and reignited mass protests in the city, with plans for more in the coming weeks.
Following Beijing’s move, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declared on May 27 that Hong Kong is no longer autonomous from the mainland, putting Hong Kong’s special trading status with the United States in jeopardy.
It’s unclear whether the U.S. administration will proceed to revoke Hong Kong’s special privileges, which would require an executive order by the president. The state department hasn’t responded to a query from The Epoch Times as of press time.
Critics fear that the law, which bans acts of “secession, subversion, and terrorism activities,” would be used by Beijing to suppress and persecute dissenting voices. Local pro-democracy activists and lawmakers note that national security laws are frequently used to prosecute and jail dissidents in the mainland.
The law also opens up the possibility of Beijing’s security agencies setting up operations in Hong Kong.

Last Sunday, more than ten thousand people took to the streets in Hong Kong after Beijing proposed at the annual meeting of its rubber stamp legislature a new national security law custom made for the special administrative region. This is a move at once both carefully calculated and taken in a desperate spirit reminiscent of Russian roulette.
If this law is passed, it is the end of the “one country, two systems” promised by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Beijing will set up a national security office in Hong Kong. People can then be arbitrarily arrested and taken to the mainland to be prosecuted in a system with no rule of law. Or, people can be arrested and handled in Hong Kong after the Hong Kong legal system is subverted and turned into a replica of the mainland’s. Hong Kongers suspect military police have already been sent to Hong Kong.
Beijing is taking this action after the mayhem unleashed by the pandemic. More than 122 countries want an investigation into how the CCP virus outbreak happened in China. Why take such a step, knowing it will bring more international condemnation down upon the CCP?
CCP has actually weighed the political and financial risks carefully. In the end, political safety appears more urgent and critical to the party.

Top administration officials involved in a key Jan 5th 2017, discussion with outgoing President Barack Obama about incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn provided contrasting accounts of what transpired. That’s according to recently declassified records.
By all accounts, Obama and top officials discussed phone calls between Flynn and then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during a White House meeting in the final days of the Obama administration.
But the details about the conversation—including who brought up Flynn and when—differ from account to account, suggesting there is more to learn about what transpired at the Oval Office.
Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates said she first learned about the Flynn–Kislyak calls during the Jan. 5 meeting, according to a recently declassified summary (pdf) of Yates’s interview with special counsel Robert Mueller.
According to Yates, after the president was briefed about the Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian meddling in the 2016 election, Obama dismissed everyone present except for Yates and FBI Director James Comey.
Obama then told Yates and Comey that he learned about the Flynn–Kislyak calls and the fact that the two men discussed sanctions.
Comey’s account of what transpired differs. In his recently declassified testimony (pdf) to the House Intelligence Committee, Comey said that Obama brought up the Flynn topic sometime during the Jan. 5 meeting. But didn’t mention whether the conversation occurred before or after Obama dismissed the rest of the officials from the Oval Office.
According to Comey’s account, Obama brought up Flynn.
But according to a recently declassified email by then-national security adviser Susan Rice, Yates and Comey weren’t the only people in the room with Obama after the rest of the officials were dismissed.
Rice wrote that she and Vice President Joe Biden were present as well, contradicting the version of the events put forth by Yates.

The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee approved on Wednesday its first subpoena as part of an investigation into the relationship between former Vice President Joe Biden and the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.
The Republican senators in the committee approved the subpoena, at the request of the panel’s chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), for Blue Star Strategies in an 8-6 party-line vote.
It will cover records dating back to Jan. 1, 2013, regarding the public relations firm’s work for Burisma.
Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden, joined the board of Burisma in April 2014 when the former vice president was leading the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy. He left Burisma in 2019.
Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in mid-2019 to “look into” corruption allegations against the Bidens, noting that Joe Biden forced the ouster in 2016 of a prosecutor who was probing Burisma. The phone call sparked an impeachment inquiry against Trump, leading to his impeachment in December 2019.

Then-FBI Director James Comey and President Barack Obama discussed intercepted calls between incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn and the Russian ambassador during a meeting at the White House on Jan. 5, 2017, according to a newly declassified email written by one of the meeting’s attendants, national security adviser Susan Rice.
Rice’s email had previously been released, but a portion pertaining to the conversation about Flynn remained redacted until May 19. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence approved the declassification after a request by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).
The previously public portions of the email, which Rice sent to herself after the meeting, showed that Obama advised the senior officials present about being “mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it pertains to Russia.”
The newly declassified portion of the email shows that Comey responded to that instruction by pointing out that he is concerned about the frequency of communications between Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
“From a national security perspective, Comey said he does have some concerns that incoming NSA Flynn is speaking frequently with Russian ambassador Kislyak. Comey said that could be an issue as it relates to sharing sensitive information. President Obama asked if Comey is saying that the NSC should not pass sensitive information related to Russia to Flynn. Comey replied ‘potentially.’ He added that he has no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to Kislyak, but he noted that ‘the level of communication is unusual,'” Rice wrote.
The apparent effort to limit what can be shared with the incoming administration suggests that the Obama administration may have sought to conceal the existence of the investigation into the Trump campaign from the incoming Trump cabinet. Attorney General William Barr said on Monday that he does not expect U.S. Attorney John Durham’s probe into the origins of FBI’s Russia investigation will result in criminal investigations into former President Barrack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.
Barr made the remarks during an unrelated press conference where he revealed Obama and Biden will unlikely be investigated by the Justice Department as part of Durham’s investigation based on the information he currently possesses.
“As to President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr said. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”
This comes as Obama and Biden are facing increasing scrutiny from Republican lawmakers for potential misconduct during the FBI’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation into Trump campaign’s alleged ties with Russia.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly alleged, without naming specific crimes, that Obama and certain members of his administration were involved in a scheme to target Trump’s former national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and other associates of the president during 2016 and 2017.
The president revived his accusations in his hashtag “Obamagate” after a number of revelations in recent weeks. Documents released earlier this month indicated that Obama was aware of details from phone calls made by Flynn with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Meanwhile, a declassified list of Obama administration officials who requested the unmasking of Flynn in intelligence reports, which was recently given to Congress, revealed that Biden and Obama’s then-chief of staff Denis McDonough were involved in the requests.

President Barack Obama’s White House kept three key officials in the dark about bombshell Russia intelligence received in early August of 2016 from CIA Director John Brennan until after the presidential election in November.
The three officials held the top roles focusing on Russia, cybersecurity, and intelligence programs at the National Security Council. Their exclusion is likely to raise new questions about the Obama administration’s involvement in the origins of the investigation of the Trump campaign that evolved into the probe by special counsel Robert Mueller.
The Obama administration coordinated a series of so-called “small group” meetings in response to Brennan’s intelligence, but excluded three officials who would usually be involved in high-profile work on the topics: White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Michael Daniel, Senior Director for Russia and Eurasia Celeste Wallander, and Senior Director for Intelligence Programs Brett Holmgren.

The Chinese regime’s mishandling and disinformation surrounding the pandemic has re-escalated US-China tensions, while beaming a spotlight on the Trump administration’s ongoing campaign to counter Beijing in areas from trade to national security.
The pandemic’s disruption of global supply chains has hastened an administration initiative to reduce manufacturing dependence on China. Meanwhile, a raft of other measures across U.S. government agencies combating security and other threats posed by the regime are also coming to the fore.
President Donald Trump has taken a “whole-of-America approach” to tackling the challenge of the Chinese Communist Party, state department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus told The Epoch Times in a recent interview.
“This pandemic has highlighted just how correct, I think, President Trump has been since he began campaigning for the office in 2015 about the need to protect our borders, to bring crucial manufacturing home, and … importantly for America, to have reciprocal relationships around the world, to have an even playing field,” Ortagus said.
“And that’s what we’re calling for in our relationship with China—whether it’s in trade, or whether it’s working on this pandemic, or national security issues.”
The president and senior administration officials have stepped up their criticism of the regime’s coverup of the virus outbreak, while the administration conducts an investigation into the virus’s origins. The president has said that tariffs would be “the ultimate punishment” for Beijing, although White House officials have indicated they are not considering punitive measures against the regime.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell has sent a copy of the declassified list of Obama administration officials who requested the “unmasking” of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn to Congress.
“I declassified the enclosed document, which I am providing to you for your situational awareness,” Grenell wrote in his note to Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).
The document was sent to senators in response to their request to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide Congress with information regarding the “unmasking” of U.S. citizens by Obama administration officials during the time of the 2016 election through to January 2017. The senators have since released the list.
The note, signed by Grenell, was first obtained by CBS News’ Catherine Herridge on Wednesday.
Grassley and Johnson made the request in a letter (pdf) to Attorney General William Barr and acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell on Tuesday following the revelation that Grenell had declassified information about Obama administration officials who were allegedly involved in the “unmasking” of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, whose communication with the former Russian ambassador during President Donald Trump’s transition period was leaked.
Sen. Rand Paul, who also requested the declassified information, has also released the list separately. He said that he would be inviting Grenell to testify in the Senate next week.
The list contains names of recipients who may have received Flynn’s identity in response to a request processed between Nov. 8, 2016, and Jan. 31, 2017, to unmask an identity that had been generically referred to in a National Security Agency foreign intelligence report.

Multiple media outlets have claimed that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un lies comatose from a botched heart procedure, although President Trump on April 27 seemed to suggest that he was fine—or soon would be.
Still, something seems to be amiss in the North where, according to the South Korean defense minister, there has been an “unusual increase” in air force flight operations and artillery’s readiness drills. And, across the border in China, a column of transports was seen moving heavy tanks in the direction of the border crossing at Dandong.
Even assuming Kim’s current health crisis, if that’s what it is, soon passes, it is worth asking what happens in North Korea when his embalmed body joins those of his father and grandfather in the Kim Il-sung Mausoleum in Pyongyang.
That day may not be all that long in coming. Carrying an estimated 300 pounds on his 5’6” frame, and with porcine jowls, Kim Jong Un is morbidly obese. Add to this his diabetes, his fondness for wine and cheese, his cigarette habit (four packs a day) and his family history of coronary artery disease, and it is no exaggeration to say that he is a walking heart attack.
In the event Kim does not recover from his current health crisis, if that’s what it is, or suffers another fatal one in the next few years, which seems possible, who would succeed him? And what, if anything, would change in North Korea’s repressive domestic or foreign policies?

Investigative reporter John Solomon revealed April 17 on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that his sources are saying a “handful” of indictments related to the FBI’s handling of its 2016 investigation into the Trump campaign is coming.
One thing I’ve learned from following all the twists and turns of the ever-expanding “Spygate” scandal is that Solomon has excellent sources. He’s often been the first to reveal things from his sources that were later found to be accurate.
In response to host Lou Dobbs’s reminder that we’re four years into uncovering evidence about what these plotters did in their attempt to take down a president, and yet not one person has been held accountable, Solomon replied:
“I will say this: There is some fairly significant evidence at this very moment, this week, the last couple of weeks alone, that there is some criminal investigative activity that I think will result in some actions coming out.

Officials in the northern China city of Harbin have underreported cases of the CCP virus during the second wave of its local outbreak, according to internal government documents obtained by The Epoch Times.
Meanwhile, one major hospital in Harbin has stopped accepting new patients because of overcapacity and infections among medical staff. Some workers were being observed for symptoms at quarantine centers.
In early April, authorities in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang reported another wave of infections in several cities, the most severe in Harbin, the provincial capital. When China’s initial outbreak became severe in January, Harbin designated 24 hospitals for treating patients with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus, commonly known as novel coronavirus.
The Epoch Times also obtained an internal “warning notice” issued by the Heilongjiang government on April 13, in which it admitted that the outbreak in Harbin was in “an aggregated, explosive situation.”

The role played by the CIA during the 2016 investigation into the Trump campaign is increasingly receiving attention as ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) says he is “laser-focused” on uncovering what the CIA provided to the FBI as part of the ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ probe.
“In 2016, we know from great work that Trey Gowdy did at the time … that the CIA gave information over to the FBI in 2016,” Nunes told Fox News in an interview. “We now are laser-focused on that. We need to know: Exactly what did the CIA give to the FBI in 2016? That’s what our investigation is now focusing on.”
Based on publicly available information, including statements from the man himself, then CIA Director John Brennan, under President Barack Obama, appears to have played a key role in establishing the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign—including making repeated use of questionable foreign intelligence during the period leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

Governments and international bodies can no longer turn a blind eye to one of the “worst atrocities committed” in modern times, experts said—as the world’s first independent legal analysis of evidence regarding forced organ harvesting in China concluded that the grisly practice has continued unabated.
An independent people’s tribunal, known as the China Tribunal, on March 1 released its full judgment after an 18-month investigation. Panel members reviewed written and oral evidence, including testimony from over 50 witnesses given over two public hearings in December 2018 and April 2019.
Last June, the tribunal delivered its findings in London, concluding beyond a reasonable doubt that state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience had taken place for years in China “on a significant scale,” and is still taking place today.
The main organ supply came from imprisoned practitioners of the persecuted spiritual group Falun Gong, according to the tribunal.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, which consists of meditative exercises and moral teachings centered around the tenets truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance, has been subject to a brutal persecution by the Chinese communist regime for more than two decades.
Hundreds of thousands of adherents have been thrown into prisons, labor camps, and brainwashing centers, where many have been tortured in an effort to force them to renounce their faith, according to the Falun Dafa Information Center.
The tribunal concluded that the Chinese regime’s sustained campaign of forced organ harvesting constituted a crime against humanity.

The Justice Department (DOJ) campaign to counter the Chinese Communist Party’s multifaceted onslaught on U.S. interests has ramped up to an unprecedented level, according to government officials and documents.
As of February, the FBI was conducting roughly 1,000 investigations into China’s attempted theft of trade secrets, just one of many fronts in the communist regime’s wide-ranging campaign against the United States.
Every FBI field office was working on trade-secret theft cases involving China, with potential victims spanning almost every sector and industry, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray.With the DOJ and the FBI under relentless partisan fire over politically charged domestic investigations dating back to the 2016 presidential election, the initiative to counteract the offensive by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has ramped up to a historic scale while going largely unnoticed.
According to a review of DOJ press releases, the department has brought more indictments related to Chinese infiltration since 2019 than during the entire eight years of the Obama administration.

For years, the mainstream media has complained loudly about smaller news outlets they consider “fringe,” who have been stealing their audience by offering what they have snidely referred to as “alternative facts.”
After years of declining viewers and subscriptions, the fake news media is really starting to worry about the effects of fake news on American society.
NBC News’ “Meet the Press” recently hosted a panel of mainstream media journalists who discussed what could be done to reduce the amount of disinformation being presented to the public.
The gist of the discussion was a circular agreement among the panelists: The real problem, when it comes to disinformation, is that Trump and his supporters refer to the carefully packaged political-propaganda-disguised-as-news-coverage as “fake news,” which, in the minds of the panelists, demonstrates how Russian-directed agitprop is undermining the sacred American institution of a free press.
Well, excuse me. I couldn’t help but notice the panel didn’t discuss anything specific that NBC News, The New York Times, or The Washington Post could do to pare their own spread of disinformation; no, their focus was on other news media outlets that they believe need to change how they are doing their business in “the era of Trump.”

As the U.S. Supreme Court enters into the new year, the justices are preparing to confront a series of hot-button issues in the second half of what is widely viewed as a historic term. Here are 5 Legal Fights You Must Follow in 2020.
Since the start of the term in October, the court has already heard arguments on a number of high profile cases such as on the second amendment, the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the deportation of lawful permanent residents convicted of felonies, and whether the Civil Rights Act of 1964 applies to LGBTQ workers.
Some Supreme Court fights to keep an eye on in 2020 include cases on Louisiana abortion restrictions, state aid for religious schools, the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and President Donald Trump’s bid to shield his financial records.
The fight to stop the House and a New York investigation from having access to the president’s financial records reached the high court last month when the Supreme Court agreed to take on Trump’s appeals of the three subpoena-related cases. The cases present important separation of power questions to the justices.
One of the cases stems from a subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee to Trump’s accounting firm Mazars USA to hand over eight years of financial records involving Trump and his business in April as part of its probe into allegations about the president’s financial statements.
In a separate House-related case, the House Financial Services and House Intelligence committees issued subpoenas to two banks—Deutsche Bank AG and Capital One Financial Corp.—asking them to turn over Trump’s financial documents. The House committee investigations are unrelated to the impeachment proceedings.
Meanwhile, the third case centers on a subpoena issued by District Attorney of New York County Cyrus Vance Jr. in a criminal investigation in Manhattan. Vance is investigating hush money allegedly paid to two women during the..
