Map: Doom E2M1 (if you haven't noticed)
Port: GZDoom

Texture: https://mega.nz/#!oMdxFCrb!Eo1P1wF8P1Ou-0oefhqUQjZ6wDhXCVBJjctUX4-_m6M
Sound replacer WAD: https://mega.nz/#!4UVWgRiJ!N6m66RRhutrUtykgxrdENCDAnOXYR6mWCVYxSCx2xHk
Texture library (source code included): https://mega.nz/#!pEdW0SLb!2ahxzvVuQ8oekTcSz9wACKBrggqZCuVsXFF7vKQVEs4

To use the texture replacer library you simply have to set an environment variable SANNIE with the path to the texture (make sure it's a png, duh), then use LD_PRELOAD to preload the library. As simple as that, really.

Oh yeah, and you have to be on Linux.

I've checked and nope, it doesn't seem to work with Steam games.

PS: A lot of work has been done on the library after this video was posted, this guide can be considered obsolete. You can contact me on Twitter or somewhere else if you want to try things out for yourself and need a hand.

The very core of this has evolved into an effort to create general purpose texture, audio, shader, mesh, etc. replacement modding tools for Linux gaming, this can be followed on my github, here: https://github.com/OrdinaryMagician/glmod

For the people who don't get it:

Explaining the magic:

This is the combination of three modifications.

1. A WAD that contains the tim allen grunt and all sound entries for Doom pointing to it.
2. An OpenGL wrapper library for Linux that intercepts all texture loading and replaces everything with one file, in this case, Tim Allen's face.
3. A soundfont that works similarly to 1, there's the grunt, and then all MIDI instruments use it.

The two first I did all by myself, but for the latter, since I'm too lazy to learn how SF2 files work, I used Polyphone, a FOSS soundfont editor.

Played back with timidity++, encoded to Ogg Vorbis with default settings.

I've been contacted by someone from IGN to feature this video there so... "IGN Submission" added here.
