The experience of choosing an MTB tire can be a confusing and frustrating time. None of the manufacturers make it easy on us. They all have their own marketing terms disguised as technical data. And each brand makes sure their "technical data" is in a mutually unintelligible language. Finding the right tire can be a mess. To make matters worse there is not an MTB tire store on every corner. It's not like you can walk up and just start looking at and feeling tires for yourself. You have to take a leap of faith. And that is just what I did with the Maxxis Shorty Tire.

Before you read (or watch) any further let me cut to the chase. I love this tire. I will buy this tire again. There you have it. You don't need to read (or watch) any further...

Of course I am sure you want to know why I like this tire. For that you just need to watch the video...

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour here with Luis. As is often the case, by buddy Rick was riding with me. These trails are very rocky and technical... speaking of technical, my gimbal gave me some technical difficulty near the end (just before the best parts of the Lower Red Trail).

I hope you enjoy! Thanks for Watching,

Dominic

Here is some basic safety advice for using the Zore X Core pistol lock for 9x19. I normally do not (and will not) make videos related to weapons, but because of the potential for child safety with this device that I would bend my personal rule about videos and weapons for this one. I think if you have kids and guns in the house, this is something you need. This thing works. But, depending on which pistol you have, it has some quirks.

Let me know what you think. If you would like to know something more specific about this product then add a request in the description below. I'll see if I can add a follow up video based on your request.

Need some help from the Jeep Community. I opened my Dana 35 so I could remove the axles as part of the process of replacing the axle seal on the drivers side. In the end it felt good to tell the story so I decided to go ahead and publish this video. There is no easy way to say it so I just have to say this. My wife has brain cancer. Here is the story.

There are so many “Bike Check” videos out there that fall into two categories. Some dude with a handheld gopro and no plan, or a bike magazine’s “review video”. I am trying to bridge the gap between those worlds by doing in depth reviews with a plan. Basically I am a Dude with a bunch of camera’s and a Plan. The concept is simple; Showcase the bike with real world riders, discuss the technical aspects of the bike, then talk about how they feel about the bike. This is going to be regular guys, on the bikes that they love, talking about the way they ride.

In this episode we face the fact that I could not convince anyone to waste four hours filming so I was forced to interview myself… the truth is I wanted to show my friends what a full feature episode would be like. I am not sure that they will all be this long or as in depth. We’ll let that aspect of the show evolve in time. So I hope you enjoy my indepth review and discussion about the 2014 Santa Cruz Bronson 1.0.

While I was back in Michigan for a family trip I decided to finally answer that nagging question that had been bugging me for a few years... Was Boyne Highlands MTB Park worth the trip? I am originally from the Lansing MI area and had made plenty of snow season trips up to the Highlands for snow boarding and had been curious about the mountain biking. Especially in light of the flat landscape of the lower portion of the Mitten. I was looking for some descent and I found it. The answer to that nagging question is this; If you live in southern Michigan, it is totally worth the trip!

Man, this place rocks. Both figuratively and literally. The trails here are not wannabee hero dirt. They are real worn in trails with option to accommodate any level of rider. I consider myself intermidiate and I was only riding the Green and Blue Level trails here. I have ridden some, but not all of the black trails and I would say they are more advanced, but not ridiculously so. All of the jump features have some form of "bail out" option that let's you skip them if that is not your thing. Just be advised, if you think that this is less physically demanding than making the climb, then you are in for a surprise. Just imagine doing a squat exorcise for 10 minutes straight... that is what each run is like. Sure it's not going to build stamina for long rides, but its still demanding in it's own way. I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks, Dominic.

My mission is my mantra.. to work hard, play hard, and be a big softy when I get home.

In keeping with my mantra, this channel is about what I am about. And I am about Mountain Biking, Jeep Stuff, Family Life, Photography & Film Making, Construction (my day job) and being Frugal and Resourceful. I make videos about all of these things and more. This channel is sort of a vlog meets personal review meets do-it-yourself... and anything in between. So stick around, we'll have some fun and get things done.

Work Hard. Play Hard. Be a big softy when you get home.

Thanks for watching,

Dominic.
