Here’s my new EP of the sounds that inspired my time in Benidorm abroad. One track titled ‘Another Day in Paradise’ was recorded back in June 2017, while the rest were made after finishing Danbient 2. I also have a new loop based album that’ll be coming out very soon after this release that was recorded during the making of Danbient 2. Until then, I hope you enjoy my new EP. Thanks.

OMGBV2 is the first album that I made at the Sony Theatre in Bridgend College with some tracks that were made at Studio 34 before I moved to Bridgend College for my second year in Creative Media. The sequel was made very quickly between September and November 2012 and I think the quality really shows. Though I thought some sounds/loops were better than the first one, when I was done with it, I realised I didn't like it very much. Out of all the albums I've done, this is my least favourite in my discography. I like some of the songs, but I felt that I made the album in such a generic way that in the end I was really disappointed with myself. I was trying to do something similar to Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II by making the album long which simply didn't work at all. There were a lot of tracks that I should have cut from the album entirely and there are some tracks that I should have shortened to make the album better than what came out. I felt like I done that with the 2017 Edited Version that I left in the description. That version I felt is way better than the original version and I recommend you go and listen to that one instead of the original two and a half hour version. Still, like Mixcraft of Wizardry, I am providing the original version for all to listen to and download along with the edited version in case anyone likes the original version better over the new version for some reason. Thank you for reading this and I hope you find this bit of trivia at least interesting and I hope you enjoy the edited version of OMGBV2.

One-Man GarageBand Volume III is the final album I’ve recorded at Bridgend College before I left when I completed my Level 3 Extended Diploma course in Creative Media, and the final album in the OMGB Trilogy. This album I find to be the oddest I’ve done and I don’t really know what to make of it even now. I thought it was better than the second volume in terms of loops and samples that are updated to match the current sound trends of EDM, but there’s something about it that puts me off. I felt it was all over the place in terms of tone and consistency, as well as having a lack of cohesiveness.

Like I mentioned in my Danbient reissue, the first seven months of recording the original version of OMGB3 was a nightmare as I didn’t like anything I was making and the sounds and loops were way too similar with the first two volumes, as well as difficulty handling my personal life and college studies, so I scrapped it and went on to make Danbient, which was a breath of fresh air, not using loops from the software and just create music that I personally want to make. However, in September 2014, while was nearing completion of Danbient, I’ve decided to give it another go to make OMGB3 as the GarageBand software was updated with new loops that at the time I thought it was exciting and sounded more modern than the first two, and also since I started college back in 2011 and my first record is OMGB, I felt it would be fitting to end my time in college with one more OMGB record.

Though I’m conflicted with my feelings towards it, I still think it was best to finish my time at college with this record as I’ve come full circle. Honestly, my favourite track I’ve done during the recording of OMGB3, isn’t even on this album. The track was OMGB-30M, a thirty-minute track that was released as part of the deluxe edition of the album and that track I still view as the highlight of the OMGB3 era and one of my favourite tracks I’ve done. I haven’t felt that way for a GarageBand track I’ve done since Life on the Dancefloor with my debut and it was a great swan song to finish my time in college. This track will not be on this reissue of OMGB3 as I’ll be saving that for the inclusion of my second compilation album. I think it’s better to put it on there instead in the OMGB3 reissue.

Like some of the other albums I’ve reissued over the last couple of weeks, the edited version of the album is also available to listen and download. Three tracks are omitted and a lot of the tracks have been edited/shortened. This album has the most amount of edits than any of the albums I’ve given the editing treatment, as they were parts of tracks that I don’t like at all and parts that are just filler, so listen to the edited version of the album as I personally I think it’s much better than the original. But I’m still going to release the original alongside it in case you like that one over the edited version. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy the OMGB3 reissues.

Danbient was recorded at the Sony Theatre in Bridgend College and it’s the second album I’ve done in the ambient genre. It is the first album I’ve made without using loops or samples and also the longest to make, taking me 18 months to record.

Danbient was made at a difficult point in my life. At that time, I was not in a good place. I constantly got into conflicts with friends in college in both professional and personal terms, which resulted in two of my closest friends and I to go our separate ways and not be friends anymore. I also became very distant with my family, not speaking to them at all and not giving them any notice or letting them help me with things that I struggled with. I was under a lot of pressure with college work, trying to keep up with deadlines and then to make matters worse, I was drinking a lot and started smoking and taking anti-depressants just to help me relax and get through the day.

The first seven months recording was a nightmare. Originally, I was trying to make the third volume of One-Man GarageBand, but I didn’t like anything I was making, felt it was uncreative and uninspired, and it resulted in the first iteration of OMGB Volume 3 to be scrapped (I went on to release OMGB Volume 3, a year after the release of this album).

However, in late January 2014, I started getting my creative juices flowing again, once I started making original music for the very first time. It was nerve-racking, but was exciting and I felt more confident to move away from loops and samples and just make music that I personally want to create with a concept in mind, rather than pre-used ideas from loops and samples to create songs from them.

Another thing about the album, was that it was the first to have some of the tracks to get their own music videos. Those videos were filmed in my bedroom and in the back at my house up in the hills.
I had so much fun making the videos, especially when it comes to the editing stage. I still look back at these videos with fond memories, and it showed me that I can create videos solo, without any help with my colleagues.

At a time when I felt nothing but sadness, anger and frustration, I find it interesting that the album I made in the end sounded nothing like what was going on, but yet it does at the same time. The themes of loneliness and reflection is the vibe I got now looking back in hindsight and I think it works now that I listen to it three years later.

After the release of Danbient, my life was getting back on track. After half a year without speaking, two of my closest friends and I reconciled and started hanging out and making videos again, I’ve started talking to my family again and letting them help me with my issues, I stopped drinking and smoking and cut them down to a minimum, I’ve completed my Level 3 Creative Media course with good grades and I’ve got my creative juices for music again and haven’t looked back since.

Danbient was my favourite record of all the albums I’ve made and it’s the one that I go back and listen to every now and then. But of course, my new favourite album I’ve made will soon be coming out soon and I’m very excited to release it. Hope to release the first song in June to start building up hype and promote the album and I can’t for you guys to hear the whole thing. Thank you reading this and I hope you enjoy the re-release of Danbient.

P.S. – I like to thank Charlotte Lomax for allowing me to include two of her short films, One for Sorrow and AfterImage as part of the deluxe version of the reissue. She used a couple of my songs from the album for her films and I’m grateful that she had used them. I felt like this is something I can show my appreciation by including them into the new re-release. Definitely check them out when you get the chance. Thanks Charl! :)

Summer Chillout is the second album I’ve made using the Mixcraft music software and my first attempt at creating a full ambient album. Using soundscapes that I found online and played underneath the music, it was an album that I tried to make a record for the summer holiday time. I was heavily influenced by Chicane, Jon Hopkins and Ulrich Schnauss when I was making it and it’s on display here on this album. I was actually quite proud of the record after I finished and it was a better experience to make than it was on OMGB Volume II. It was my favourite album I’ve made up to that point, but my thoughts on it had declined a bit over the years after I’ve made Danbent and its upcoming sequel. Despite some errors that I’ve made on one or two tracks, I still like it overall. It was for me a huge step-forward and the album that got me into making purely experimental and ambient music from then onwards instead of sample/loop based dance music. The album was originally titled Ambient Chillout when it first came out, but I’ve changed it to better reflect the music and what it was designed for. Hope you enjoy the re-release.

Not only is it the 5th anniversary of my debut album One-Man GarageBand, but it is also the 5th anniversary of my follow up album Mixcraft of Wizardry. Recorded at my home on a Mixcraft music software for three months, this album came out just 4 months after my debut. Like my first album, I had a blast making it, due to the loops and samples sounding a lot more like I would hear on one of my favourite bands/artists songs. Though I think I’ve made the album way too long on the initial release of the album, I still like it overall when I look back on it. I’ve rectified that big issue with the album with the edited version which you are listening to. I’ve trimmed some of the tracks and I omitted one track from the new version (For a Sunny Day) and the length of the new version is a lot less bearable than the original version. But I decided to re-release the original also in case anyone prefers it over the new one. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy the re-release.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of my debut album, I am reissuing all of my albums both in remastered and edited forms to mark the special occasion. The rest of my main albums in my discography will be reissued in the next couple of months. After that's all done, I'm also releasing a new compilation album (The Best of DW - Volume Two) which covers my favourite tracks from 2014-17. I'm doing all of this in preparation for my new album which is the sequel to my 2014 album Danbient. Recording sessions for it have been completed and I'm now currently in the post-editing and mixing stage. It will be released sometime in the fall this year. Thank you for reading this and I hope you'll enjoy what I got in store for music in 2017.
