elitefitrea is an independent post-industrial band, formed in Denver, Colorado. Its creative driver is Bryan Day, a former marine and a former prison inmate.
Described as powerful, haunting, measured, patient, layered, visceral, and experiential, elitefitrea's music is a revival-come-reinvention of a powerful mix of genres, including electronic, grunge, and post-industrial.
Day was notably incarcerated for an arson he committed during a psychotic episode in 2008, after losing a 14-year battle to suicidal depression. He was sentenced to 10 years incarceration and 5 years of parole in 2009. During his incarceration, Bryan used exercise and meditation to mitigate the effects of his depression, until 2012, when he cured it after reading Grain Brain, a book linking some cases of depression to gluten sensitivity.
After his release to parole in 2016, Day re-formed elitefitrea and has been writing and recording since.
