In the mountains in the cold, where the northern lights run wild. While snow is not a common advent on jungle planet of Frogeden there are still to the far North at the highest altitudes regions where the rain season is transfigured into winter... A happy winter solstice to everyone. Here is a somewhat experimental scene I created which is to some extent inspired by looking at the works of the Russian painter Nicholas Roerich. I hope occasionally uploading such things doesn't dissuade anyone from sticking around, I promise more classic FinkFishCity content is in the works. But for the holiday season I wanted to try some different things for a break and carve out some new stylistic imagery.

Dark and dreary is the night, yet shines a single light. Within his laboratory Dr. Finkenstein and his assistant Igor stir. Long have the residents of FinkFishCity wished the mad doctor be banished far away. And some go so far as to demand his home be demolished in order that they never again glimpse upon that scourged hill the bulwark which is Finkenstein Castle. Despite the protests of the common folk, the doctor is left alone by Frogapes in high places. The Dink dynasty turns a blind eye to his doings, half in curious amusement and half in fear. And it is rumored something else too keeps guard over the doctor, something strange and perhaps not all together friendly.

Amidst the Frog Moon a peculiar measure of meteors find their way to Frogeden; It is often said they bring unknown dangers from the depths of space, and an increased prevalence of nightmares are well attested to during these afflicted nights over which the Frog Moon gazes...

It is Halloween under moon full to the brim. A particularly unsettling sense chokes the air. The haunting hoot of the owl cuts through the jungle like a spectral knife. It is in this scene Clifford and Jimmy find themselves. Their parents told them just to trick or treat around the neighborhood, however Clifford who is older than Jimmy by some years has something different in mind. This Halloween he is taking Jimmy to that old cave that Mama Mink tells so may frightful tales about. Finding their way beneath the light of the moon they stumble far out beyond the city walls upon that stinking maw of... The Cave.

After consolidating his control over Stinktown and giving his rebel army some well deserved rest commander Dog once again is on the war march. Emboldened by his new alliance with the Shaman Bobangles it has been decided they will target the beating heart of the Frogapes way of life, Oil Town. Should he succeed the reign of King Dink will be put into serious jeopardy. But unlike the backwater of Stinktown, Oil Town and it's critical infrastructure may not be given up so easily by the armies of King Dink and General Guppy.

Sniffer is out and about today exploring the jungle looking for something he can get a good whiff of. Sniffer always says scent is an underrated sense and that it's probably good for brain development if you smell a lot of different things. After wandering for some time and locating a few mediocre plants and unidentified objects to sniff he eventually found his way to the Bayous edge and found a truly magnificent thing to sniff! Life could scarcely get any better!
