A Canadian family doctor says he has been punished by his local health authority because he raised concerns about side effects he observed in some of those who had received the Moderna COVID-19 jab within his community.

“I am no longer allowed to work in the ER,” British Columbia Dr. Charles Hoffe said, according to a True North News report.

Hoffe added that his suspension from the ER came at the end of April, after his local health authority “suspended” his clinical privileges “for the crime of causing ‘vaccine hesitancy,’ for speaking out about my vaccine injured patients.”

Brandon Crawford received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on 7-18-21 for work reasons. He's now paralyzed by the neurological disorder Guillain-Barre.

Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.

These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. In its most severe form Guillain-Barre syndrome is a medical emergency. Most people with the condition must be hospitalized to receive treatment.

The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown. But two-thirds of patients report symptoms of an infection in the six weeks preceding. These include respiratory or a gastrointestinal infection or Zika virus.

There's no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness. Although most people recover from Guillain-Barre syndrome, the mortality rate is 4% to 7%. Between 60-80% of people are able to walk at six months. Patients may experience lingering effects from it, such as weakness, numbness or fatigue.

The governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards and FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell advise Louisianans to prepare for hurricane season this year with a COVID-19 vaccination.

John Sherwood, 71, was led away in handcuffs, questioned in a police station and held overnight after being accused of making homophobic comments outside Uxbridge Station in West London.

Police said they had received complaints the man had been making 'allegedly homophobic comments' and arrested him under the Public Order Act, which can be used under the vague proviso that someone is using 'abusive or insulting words' that cause 'harm' to someone else. He was later released without charge.

Mr. Sherwood said officers grilled him over his attitude to gay people. He was even asked what he would do if his children were gay. The married father-of-two said: 'The question was irrelevant to the allegation against me. I said I would seek to bring them to Christ, but of course I would love them no matter what, because they're my children.'

'I wasn't making any homophobic comments, I was just defining marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman. I was only saying what the Bible says – I wasn't wanting to hurt anyone or cause offence.

'When the police approached me, I explained that I was exercising my religious liberty and my conscience. I was forcibly pulled down from the steps and suffered some injury to my wrist and to my elbow. I do believe I was treated shamefully. It should never have happened.'

A Met Police spokesman said its directorate of professional standards had assessed video footage of Mr. Sherwood's arrest and had found no evidence of misconduct by officers.

The school board in the town of Vail, Arizona, had implemented a mask mandate in public schools. Parents weren't having it, so they showed up at the Vail School Board meeting to tell the board to make the masks optional. After the board cancelled the meeting, the parents demanded to speak with them. Only a few were allowed to do so, while the rest crowded into the building. The Sheriff was called in. It didn't quell the parents or their demands to free their kids from masking in schools. The board then left the building citing "safety concerns".

So what did the parents do? On Tuesday, they voted in a new school board on the spot, then voted to end mandatory masking in Vail Schools. Parents gathered outside the school board meeting to make their positions known.

The new school board was pleased with its decision, as were the gathered parents. The motion against mandatory masking was made "effective immediately." But, "School officials say district leaders are working on a letter to send to all parents as a reminder that the mask mandate remains in place," reported local news.

Houston Methodist Hospital will be firing employees who fail to meet their June 7th Covid-19 vaccination deadline unless they can acquire either a religious or medical exemption.

Bob Nevens, Houston Methodist’s director of corporate risk and insurance, told the Houston Press that he was suspended for two weeks without pay and expects to be let go this month.

Jennifer Bridges, a nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital in Baytown, said she would take the vaccine once it’s fully approved by the FDA, which could take years.

“We’re not against the vaccine, we just want to be more comfortable with this one and have thorough research out before we take it,” Bridges said. “When patients get care, they have the right to refuse treatment, but we’re not allowed that same exemption.”
