Thanx to Mike, Lucas and Jason we had a GOAT (greatest of all time) adventure.

This is my pack goats 1st hunting trip.

Pack Goat training gym seems to be a hit. Snicker and Doodle stole the show and really explored their boundaries, balance, traversing different heights and a Goat perch to play King of the logs!
As time goes on I'll ad to the jungle gym with new challenges. Anything new is very interesting to a goat and peaks their curiosity, builds confidence right in their paddock.

Well a total surprise Mama and Princess decided to come along and see what they have been missing out on. Mama and Princess are barn sour. They like the safety of home, that is just the way they were raised and are a perfect example for the reason *why* it is very important to build confidence on the trail young. This was a big break through with Mama and Princess! I really hope she will continue to follow along. I don't make anyone of them do anything that they don't want to do. Not all goats can be pack goats.

Snicker, Doodle, and Yoda get fitted with harnesses and a dog pack. Each of the fella's had a chance to carry our water for our hike in the HD's. First hike with just the boy's and the boy's loved the freedom to follow us were ever we decided to go. First rule of training with the goats is to allow the goat to be a goat and have fun?

Hello to all!
My name is Robert Steck and I/we are sharing our experiences of training young goats a video vlog of their training as the years go on. It takes about 4 years to develop a goat to have the stamina, strength, experience and confidence for the challenges on the trail.
I have never worked with goats till this summer but I have 0ver 25 years experience in the wilderness packing horses and mules. The differences are great but yet the same principals. The differences are obvious as you will see.
I have to say after working with these friendly, therapeutic loving animals I don't think I'll ever go back to pack horses/mules.
Why Goats for YOU? Expense is a major factor for most people. Feed, Transportation, care, homestead friendly and beneficial in many ways and forms, docile, loving and bond much better than horses and mules. The goats wish to be with you at all times and I mean all the time, if they could they would move into your house with you and a couple of times I have step out of the house and the door didn't close, they take over my place. I'll walk in and there are 3 to 5 goats sitting on the couch. Too Funny!
