For my next journey I’ve come to a remote craggy outcrop here in central Utah called the Rochester Art Panel that sits majestic at the end of a natural elevated highway. The ancient graffiti found here reads like a history book, a collection of gnosis from the old world that tells of tales yet to be deciphered by man. A magnificent rainbow draws the drifter closer into an unfolding narrative full of mega fauna, abundance & other horned deities. Like some mythical firmament etched in stone, Shambala or Eden, a paradise lost. The desert’s beauty is in stark contrast to the catastrophic events which scraped clean this barren landscape, leaving behind the bones of a prehistoric ecosystem. These petroglyphs hidden throughout the southwest share what I believe is a global language in psychic/symbolic form very different from our phonetic speak. There is an amazing life that has been purposefully hidden from our knowing to keep us under the spell of consumerism & apathy. Deeper knowledge of our world is shared in increments only when it benefits the gatekeepers. There is so much we don’t understand, so it is with great curiosity & willpower I explore these questions through the metaphysical lens.
