Grand Portage Gardener

Nice little garden this year. I feel like I have it figured out for the most part. Now I'm just trying to bring everything up a notch. Not much for rain so far but there's been some good sun and heat. If we get some good rain days this garden is gonna explode. I'll be here to show ya!

Just started cutting a trail into my property. Damn it's hardwork but like I always say, if the Canadians can do it, I sure can. This is the beginning of an amazing journey my family and I are endeavoring on. Day by day!

First update of the year! Garlic is the first food and of course the tulips. I started some lettuce a bit early so fingers crossed there. if the weatherman is right should be good to plant stuff now but I can never trust the weather. However, I'm gonna start planting everything soon. next video there will be a lot more food in the ground.

The trailer is done. The rest should go quick and I can't wait! I want to start cutting wood ASAP.

The deep winter greenhouse is satisfying my urge to grow. However, I can't wait for all this snow to melt. Hopefully these aphids realize they will loose this battle and just give up. early tomatoes are a certainty at this point but I'm skeptical about peppers. At this point it's a matter of learning what grows well in there and when. Also, maintaining the temperature is a challenge.

The deep winter greenhouse is almost ready for planting. It's gonna be awesome to grow food through the cold winter here in the arrowhead.

sunset in the harbor. what more is there to say.

getting to the end of my very short season of gardening. I'm happy overall about the outcome so far. there is still a lot to do as things wrap up and I'll be happy to draw it to a close. soon we will have snow.

Hi, I cut this video short on accident but you get the idea. It's August and everything is poppin!

garden is going good now there is nearly zero risk for frost. Making some more changes here and there and trying to maintain all this has become a lot of work.

I seem to have less and less time each season but keep expanding the garden. it's not a great recipe for success. However, I'm making it happen. With most of my seeds and plants in its just about time to sit back and watch it all grow.

Kicking it into full gear now. Got a load of the best compost available at Lakeview Natural Dairy. Flowers are blooming, new beds made, trees planted, and I am excited as ever about this year.

*all pest treatments are organic methods*

Into August already and between a baby and a job change I've been pretty busy keeping the garden but it wants to make me food!

Well everything is good on the home front and I haven't noticed anything that just won't grow. Seems like a great year so far. Just sitting here waiting for our 3rd baby to arrive any minute and realized I forgot to upload this video.
