Our band, Full Moon Kirtan, played a gig at the Triple Crane Retreat Center. It was the April Full Moon on the 6th, 2023. Brian, Jess, Trevor, Madhavi, Jamie, and Paul were here for this jam. Full Moon Kirtan is a loose collective non-sectarian group singing praises to the Divine.

Jess Willyard grew up in Alpena, Michigan, and has been rocking the mitten since 1990. Jess specializes Acoustic Rock. A guitar and a microphone. He plays Jams from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s all the way up to the Modern era. He plays classic tunes, deep cuts and originals. Jess plays songs from the Beatles, the Doors, Nirvana, Bob Marley, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, etc. Jess has been in various bands around Michigan including Sista Otis Band, Blue Snaggletooth, the Dharma Bums, Ann Arbor Dub Project. Jess has seen a million faces, and he’s rocked them all.

Teles rule. So Ted and I built one! This Barncaster is made from 150 year old Pennsylvania barn wood. It has a Warmoth boatneck on it, a Warmoth six saddle top loader bridge, Fender Texas Specials, and electronics from Awesome-guitars.com. It's all American made parts, assembled in Michigan! I love playing this guitar. The boatneck is comfy on my hands, and the tone is killer. Special thanks to Ted Posobiec for building this with me.

This is our band back in 1991. But also, it's a scrapbook of pictures from Alpena and Ossineke from 1987- 1993. I hope my peeps from Alpena enjoy this! Maybe you will recognize some of these faces! Also, it's a peek into our lives and culture in Northern Michigan around that time! Dan and Brian were around 17 during this jam. Jeremy was probably 15 and I (Jess) was 16.
