☘️☘️Happy St-Patrick's Day 2023!!!!☘️☘️ Love you guys 🥰🥰🥰 To celebrate I did a 14k run, -1 Celsius, 90 minutes, my longest run for this new year 2023. Boy was I ever tired for the rest of the day,🤣🤣 Whatever you dream off, whatever you can imagine, you can achieve it! I believe in you ❤️❤️❤️ Love Guy The Snowrunner, Mr Bonheur, Mr Happiness

Who is this snow runner, shirtless in shorts at -10°C?

Caroline Samii-Esfahani, February 25, 2023
Guy Giard, a 63-year-old Montrealer, runs shirtless in summer and winter, even though he says he is shy. With a red nose always in his pocket, to greet passers-by, the humanitarian clown with the look of a southern vacationer who seems lost in the snow, loves the direct contact of the air with his skin. He will not change his look!

In winter, Guy Giard, nicknamed Mr. Happiness by some, rises with the sun. He drinks his half cup of coffee and watches the weather. Reasonable, the charismatic soft-spoken man prefers to jog when the temperature stays above -15 degrees Celsius, when the wind is weak and there is a beautiful sun. The weather is ideal, so they put on their shorts, their t-shirt, their fluorescent orange water shoes with spikes, their fanny pack and their whistle in case of a fall. Mr. Happiness is daring, but careful!

The year-round vacationer from the Southwest
It all started in the summer of his 60th birthday when Mr. Happiness started running, driven by the "frustration of mid-life" during the pandemic. Overcome by the summer heat wave, he got so hot that he got over his shyness and took off his shirt. He never wore it again! Indian summer arrived, followed by trees adorned with flakes, he stayed dressed as a vacationer in the south. The Concordia Bachelor of Arts with a certificate in humor and laughter yoga began to listen to his body. Attentive to his tolerance for discomfort, he likes to push himself, but gradually to avoid injury. "As long as it's pink, it's okay," confides the snow runner.

Once outside, the 60-year-old athlete removes his top and ties it around his waist. Then, shirtless, he runs along the St. Lawrence Canal in the St. Henri district and listens to the chirping of the birds until he reaches the Quai de l'Horloge in the Old Port. Round trip, his morning run lasts 12 km.

This humanitarian clown, who has accompanied Dr. Patch Adams to hospitals to make patients laugh in Latin America, Russia and India, admits that for every two pleasant reactions from strangers, one is less pleasant. Some grumpy people prefer to turn their heads and ignore him. It can't be easy!

What about the summer?
In summer, Guy Giard runs dressed almost like in winter, but barefoot!

Another wonderful 💖😄✌ 11k snowrun 💨🥶🧊winds 0°C Barechest

Winter is wonderful for snowbaths! Guy dans la neige 26 janvier 2023
Someone join me for a snow bath? Winter is wonderful! Did you play outside today? It's so energizing that you have to try it. Take off your shoes and top, put on your shorts and let's play ball, a snow ball 🤣🤣🤣. I love you all. Guy the snow runner from Montreal ❤❤❤ ✌Peace

Yeah! 😃 13k -1°C 🥶 Shirtless in shorts with ❄ snow. What a great morning, yes it was grey weather but at -1 Celsius I felt I could do my longer runs. Which I did with a wonderful 13 kilometers. At some point the winds picked up and some freezing rain luckily turned into tiny snow. Love these longer winter runs ❤ 💖 💕 Love you 😍😍😍 Guy Giard

Playing in the snow is so much fun!!!!😂🤣😅
Jouer dans la neige est si AMUSANT!!!!😂🤣😅
Je vous aime tous xxxxx😍😍😍😍 Love you all xx Guy Giard

💗With a wonderful snow bath after my 6km run at -11°C🥶 shirtless in shorts 😃Are you shy and worried about what people may think or say about you??? Unfortunately I am, or was, as I'm getting better at working on this. Sure, running shirtless in shorts in winter raises a few eyebrows, so I'm also using that experience to feel more confident. What are your tips and tricks for dealing with this situation? I'd love to read your comments below. I love you all xxxx Guy Giard

😍 Happy New Year 2023 from "UKU the clown" 🤡 Guy from Montreal. 0 degrees Celsius / 32 Fahrenheit with a bit of freezing drizzle for a 1h45 minute 15km / 9 mile winter run in shorts and shirtless. 🥶 It's wonderful! I only started running two years ago, at the age of 60, because I was tired of being cooped up indoors. You don't have to brave the weather like I did, but anything you dream of, anything you can imagine, you can do. I believe in you! 2023 is going to be AMAZING for you and I love you for it. ❤️❤️❤️ Many hugs xxxx Guy "UKU the clown" from Montreal.

What a beautiful day! 😁I waited so long for the first snow storm 🌨 ❄ and here it is. I ran 12km shirtless in shorts and with the winds it was about -7 Celsius / 19 Farenheit, for almost 2 hours of cold exposure. I ran from the Atwater Market to the Clock Tower in the Old Port of Montreal, along the Lachine Canal. I had my waterproof socks on in my minimalist beach shoes and it was great, except that in some places there was a foot of deep snow and I hit my feet twice on a hidden train track, and a concrete sidewalk divider. Ouch!!!!😭Nonetheless, I was looking forward to this all summer. Have fun and enjoy the winter! !! Love you all ❤️❤️❤️ and Merry Christmas if I don't see you since then. xxxx Guy Giard

What a cold morning, December 12, 2022. I wasn't sure if I should go out, the coldest morning so far to run, so I waited for the sun to come out. Still the wind.... ooooo the wind, -16 celsius, that was something. I could feel myself starting to freeze all over, and when I got home I was red as a lobster 😂. I did a 7k run, which was about 45 minutes of exposure to the cold. You just have to marvel at the amazing abilities of the body!!! I can't wait to keep exploring. Love you all ❤️❤️❤️ xxx Guy Giard

I have to say, not too shaby for 63. I'd like to loose some weight, but this time instead of fasting I want to get back to real proper nutrition. I'm easily swayed by people around me,.
Friday, December 2, another great morning run. With the wind blowing and the sun not shining, it was a bit chilly at -5C / 23f, but I still managed to run 16km in 2 hours 😄 What bothers me most right now is the gravel the city has started covering the pathways with, for snow and ice. I think I'm going to have to take a winter break from running barefoot, or wait for a new immaculate snowfall. And yes, winter without snow is like a delicious bagel without salmon and cream cheese, it's just not the same! 😂 I love you all and wish you a great weekend Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️xxx Guy Giard
