Happily

A man is brought to tears as he flicks through the pages of a photo book given to him as a gift by his step-daughter before turning to the last page and discovering a picture asking him to adopt her.

Gus Roman, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been raising Alexa Figueroa, 13, since she was just two-years-old after her dad, Eddie, tragically lost his life just a week before her first birthday.

He has a son, Noah, with Alexa’s mom Mia, and after the couple got married Noah, 7, asked Mia if she was going to change her surname and if Alexa would change hers too so they could all be ‘Roman’.

Worried she would lose a piece of her dad, Alexa wasn’t sure, but Mia explained she could hyphenate her surname to Figueroa-Roman and that she was lucky to have two dads.

She immediately loved the idea and the three set about planning how to surprise Gus with the news - who had always wanted to adopt Alexa but chose to wait until it was her decision.

They decided to use Father’s Day - the same day Eddie lost his life - as the day to break the happy news to Gus to add happiness to what has always been a sad day for the family.

In the heart-warming clip, Noah gives presents to Gus first, so not to raise suspicion, before Alexa gifts Gus the book packed with cherished memories of them together including dances and their first photo.

Already emotional, he turns to the last page and breaks down as he finds a photo of Alexa holding a sign reading ‘Hey Dad! 10 years seems long enough don’t ya think?! Wanna adopt me?’

Hearing impairment is always a serious problem both for the child and for the parents. It is hard to reconcile that this tiny person will be deprived of the opportunity to perceive such a rich and incalculably diverse world of sounds for his or her entire life! It is painful to realize that this impediment can raise an invisible barrier between the baby and the surrounding people, which may isolate it from the world. However, this does not mean that the life of this child will be one of loneliness and isolation.

Deaf children are quite ordinary children. They also like to run, play, dance, have fun and play around, experiment with different objects, build, sculpt and paint. But very often they have no one to play with. Parents of hearing children do not encourage their communication with deaf people, and sometimes they also prevent such contacts. Why? Because the untrained, deaf child does not speak. Instead of articulating speech, they produce sounds, sometimes they use gestures and cannot, if untrained, lip-read. This means the child is showing behavior very different from the peers with normal hearing, which, make isolate and even shun the child from the community.

Not every child gets to experience life the same way since birth. A lot of babies are born with certain disabilities that threaten to impede their way of life. However, we live in a day and age when technology can help these little humans get a taste of everything life has to offer. What a time to be alive!

This baby boy was literally jumping for joy after hearing for the first time. Little Beckett McNaughton, who was born deaf, can’t help but break out in a beaming smile as his special hearing aids are switched on by his audiologist. Mom Jessica can be heard saying softly, “Can you hear momma?” As Beckett’s eyes light up. The youngster can’t contain his excitement and begins to jump up and down on his mother’s knee with delight. And as both parents begin talking to Beckett, he quickly switches his focus from one to the other, as he begins to pinpoint where certain sounds are coming from.

It is such a heartwarming moment when Beckett turns his head as he looks to see where the voices are coming from. And once he realizes that his Mom and Dad are speaking to him, Beckett shines the biggest smile we have ever seen. His facial expression gradually changes from sheer happiness to true surprise, even a bit of concern about the volume of other things, other stimulations that exist in the outside world and ere never before known to him. We know this moment was a long time coming for the entire family and it is obvious that everyone is full of emotion.

A pint-sized diva threw a hilarious Hollywood-level tantrum during a dance recital by demanding her proud dad to stop recording her performance. Even when she’s angry she’s so adorable!

Adorable Tegan Surratt, aged three, had asked her parents not to film her routine but, like all proud parents, dad Jeremy couldn’t resist so hid a few rows back hoping she wouldn’t spot him. However, mid-dance, the youngster realized what her dad was up to and immediately pointed at him before yelling ‘stop it’, sticking her tongue out and telling Jeremy to put the phone down.

After sending the audience in the auditorium in Ardmore, Oklahoma, into hysterics, Tegan got back to her routine, so proud dad Jeremy was even able to record a few more minutes without his princess watching. He was once busted for his actions, he didn’t want to be reprimanded twice. How cute!

During her dance recital, one of the unicorn princesses busted her dad filming her in the spotlight and immediately expressed her anger by throwing the cutest temper tantrum on stage, mid recital. Tegan Surratt stole the show during her first dance performance when she suddenly became bashful and refused to cooperate, unless her father stops recording her performance. They are on stage and everybody is looking at them, when all of a sudden, this girl spots her father in the audience and has a meltdown, refusing to stick to the routine unless he puts down the phone camera.

She is so grumpy and sweet at the same time. She is very rebellious and refuses to allow for her dance recital to be caught on camera. She just stands there, waving her arms, staring directly at her dad, growling with discontent.

Apparently, putting her happy feet into action is only possible when there are no paparazzi around, to the contrary she just stands there like a statue, throwing a big temper tantrum. This grumpy little toddler is just not a fan of cameras, and this is how her parents will learn the lesson!

Your subconscious never gets old. It is not subject to time and possible changes, or to any other restrictions. It is part of the universal mind of God, which has no beginning, no end, and knows neither birth nor death.

The signs of fatigue and aging can in no way have a mental or spiritual cause. Patience, kindness, love of truth, humility, willingness to help, peace, harmony and love for one's neighbor are qualities and basic traits that never grow old. Those who nurture these traits in themselves will forever retain a youthful spirit.

A report made by a group of outstanding doctors from a clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio, states that years are in no way responsible for the phenomena of growing old. The same group of doctors found that it was not the passage of time, but the fear of its irretrievable fleeting that had a negative impact on the human mind and body. The immediate cause of premature aging must obviously be sought in the neurotic fear of the visible and the perceived negative manifestations of growing old.

Studying the life stories of famous people who were engaged in their creative activity at an age well beyond normal limits, a common denominator is distinguished: many of them reached the peak of their creative productivity only in old age. Also, a great many people who lived far away from peer pressure, stress and environments where financial success is a measure of one’s happiness, and whose modest life provided incontrovertible proof that not only age is destroying the productive forces of the body and mind.

A female rugby team demonstrated real girl power by pushing an ambulance after it got stuck in the mud carrying their injured teammate to hospital.

Players at Chateauguay Valley Regional High School in Quebec, Canada, were left shaken on May 2 2018 after a teammate injured her neck while making a tackle in the middle of a game.

After kneeling around her out of respect, the rest of the team watched as the teen was loaded into the back of the ambulance and the medics were ready to drive away.

But the ambulance didn’t get far as its wheels immediately began spinning in the mud making it impossible to move.

Without hesitation, the teammates rallied around the ambulance and worked together to push the vehicle out of the mud to a chorus of rapturous cheers from spectator family and friends.

Laura Ykema filmed the inspirational moment as her sister Alyssa, 16, was playing on the same Chateauguay team as the injured girl.
