Diagnosing a Mercury 90hp with Ron. We found that the #3 Cylinder is dead with little to no compression. It also doesn't have fire on the #1,3 & 5 cylinders. Ron said it ran but it also has a bad Stator. Maybe able to save it but at what cost.

Went fishing again this week. It was cloudy fairly windy and as far as the bite. There was no bite. But, I wanted to share a few pages from a 1968 manual for a Johnson evinrude 6hp. The second page describing how the ignition system works on those coils, breaker points and condensers. The second page was scanned upside down. I am pretty certain they did it on purpose.

Our friend Tim is working on restoring a Stratos boat. He brought it over the first time and it had no fire. Tim took it back home and got the stator, trigger, switchbox and new coils. Its firing good now. In this episode we set the timing. However the second set up carbs the float was stuck.

Tim took it back home and is going to clean the carbs again.

Welcome to our latest video where we tackle the installation of the tilt and trim back onto the 2000 Johnson 70hp 4 stroke outboard motor. This particular unit underwent extensive rebuilding by the skilled team at 5 Star Marine. The condition was so deteriorated that we opted to send it off for professional repair.

During the rebuild process, 5 Star Marine identified that the valve body was beyond repair, meaning it couldn't be upheld under their impressive 2-year warranty.

In this video, we'll walk you through the steps of reinstalling the tilt and trim, sharing tips and insights gained from our experience with this project.

Testing a Triton bunch of repairs. We went out and came back in. Customer had put on a cheap fuel pump. Change out that pump for a Mercury Pump and he is good to go.

My brother bought a Viking Battery Tester analyzer and I liked it so much I bought one too. Also, diagnosing a tilt trim problem on a 2000 Johnson 90hp outboard. Seems the trim unit had lots of water intrusion. The electric motor died.

In this episode, I get the Humminbird Network switch installed and pair my buetooth on the phone with my Humminbird Solix 10 & 12 graphs to my new Ultrex Quest trolling motor by Minn Kota. I also call Humminbird text support to setup to recieve text messages and phone calls. I was able to get calls but no texts. Once I found the setting in the phone I was able to recieve text messages..

In this episode, I tackle two different boat repair challenges. First up, a 2000 Triton bass boat with a Mariner 150hp engine. Despite good compression, only cylinders #3 and #4 were firing. Join me as I diagnose the issue and discuss plans with the customer, Tim, who has another motor with new parts.

Next, I delve into a chaotic scene with a 2000's Triton aluminum boat sporting a Mercury 50hp engine suffering from power loss. Tools scattered, starter solenoids abound, but the real culprit? A faulty ignition switch! I replace the solenoid and pinpoint a weak coil in the 4-pin CDM, causing trouble in the #1 cylinder under load.

Had a bad rectifier. I had to fix some of the bullet connectors that got hot. Also found a fuel line that was cracked. It was way underneath the carb. Everything on this motor was pretty far out when I recieved it. Got running pretty good..

Pressure testing a 1971 Johnson 25hp 25R71S gearcase for leaks. Found a screw had a missing O-ring. Was leaking pretty good. Fixed the leak and installed back on the motor.
