The Isle of Wight Steam railway runs from Smallbrook Junction to Wooton on the Isle of Wight. It operates as a tourist railway runs a variety of different preserved trains. The main station on the line is Havenstreet, where there is are workshops, museums, a cafe and a gift shop. Smallbrook junction is unique as it has no external access and acts purely as an interchange between the steam railway and the main line!

The Island Line runs from Ryde Peir Head to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, UK. It is a rather unique system, featuring the Peir section between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Peir Head, where passengers can connect with ferries to Portsmouth Harbour train station on the mainland! The stations along the line and single track running give the look and feel of a heritage railway whilst using modern electric rolling stock. This video also features Smallbrook Junction station, which has no external access and is only used to interchange between the electric and steam railways.

Unfortunately, the old Class 438 trains, which were made from old 1938 Stock Tube trains, have now been retired. They have been replaced with Class 434 trains, which fittingly, are made from highly refurbished, D Stock tube trains!

This video showcases the unique Isle of Wight Hovercraft service, run by Hovertravel. It is the last remaining commercial hovercraft service in the world and runs from Southsea Hoverport near Portsmouth to Ryde Hoverport, where you can interchange onto the Island Line at Ryde Esplanade station.

The service is operated with 2 Griffon 12000TD Hovercraft 'Solent Flyer' and 'Island Flyer'. In the background you will also see the older BHT130 'Solent Express' which is no longer in use.

My yearly end of year special with all the extra clips that I've recorded but didn't fit into another video. I've had a great year, and visited many different countries, nearly all of which feature in this video.

Thanks for watching and Happy new year!

This video focuses on the 4 conventional lines of the Brussels Metro, these being 1, 2, 5 and 6. These run run in combination with the unique Pre-Metro lines, which run trams in metro tunnels through the city centre. Lines 1 and 5 share track and run in East-West across the city centre. They operate with newer M6 and M7 trains manufactured by CAF. Lines 2 and 6 share track and form a Spiral loop around the city centre. They operate with older M1 and M5 trains manufactured by Bombardier.

The LUAS is the tramway system of Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Along with the DART, it forms Dublin's mass transit network. It has 2 lines: The green line which runs North-South, and the Red Line which runs East-West. They cross over in Dublin city centre. Both operate with Alstom Citadis 301, 401 and 402s. It features a wide variety of alignments, including on and off street, grass track, old railway line and even beside a canal! This video aims to capture this variety of the system from many different points of view.

The Oslo T-Bane (Short for Tunnelbane, Metro in English) is the metro system in Oslo, Norway. It has 5 lines, which all share track in the common tunnel underneath the city centre, operating similar to an S-Bahn system. These lines also form a ring line around the north of the city.

Featured in this video:

Between Jar and Bekkestua on line 3, the system shares track with the Oslo Tramway.

Line 1 climbs up the side of a mountain to cross country skiing trails just outside the city. It reminds me much more of a rural railway than a rapid transit system.

The Stansted Airport Transit System is a people mover system at London Stansted Airport, UK. It transports people from the main terminal to the satellite buildings for gates 1-19 and 20-39. I was lucky enough to get a full ride on the system when departing from the airport.

PLEASE NOTE: To ride the system you must be on a flight that either departs or arrives at gates 1-39. The system is for one way trips only, as arrivals and departures are kept separate at the airport. You can't ride back to the main terminal once you've arrived at your gate. As far as I can tell most international non-Ryanair flights use gates 1-39

My regular camera is broken so this was filmed on my old back up camera, so it's only 720p.

I took a ride on the Paris metro and RER on my recent visit to Paris. Lines 1, 4, 6, 11 and 14 have rubber tyres instead of regular steel wheels. These lines make a drastically different noise and have a much higher acceleration.
