I heard a rumor that Amazon might abandon ROP and attempt another Tolkien series. I don't know whether or not that's true, or even being considered, but this is my advice for them should they decide to do that. They probably will not even see this, and if they do they will most likely not care to follow my advice, but if they want to make money then they would be wise to do so. As a general rule of business, if you want money from someone you should find out what it is that person wants and is willing to pay for.

This is my response to an article attempting to do damage control for the new "Rings of Power" series Amazon is producing. They are saying in the article that their motive are about more than money, which I agree with. My thinking is that it's about cultural demolition. Maybe Jeff Bezos really is a fan, but the people he has writing and directing this endeavor certainly are not.

This is my reaction as I read through the article, and is off the cuff rather than scripted, so in some places there is a bit of rambling. I wasn't going to do another video on this topic, but since it's taking me so long to do my next topic I decided to go ahead and do something which I could post in the interim.

This concerns the "Rings of Power," and it is my official response to the corporate response to the fans. Unlike the corporate response, my response was generated after the fact. I do hope someone will see this and take note. Normally I try to focus on things that I like and find inspirational, but as a fairly hardcore Tolkien fan I feel obligated to defend his work, especially now that neither JRR Tolkien nor Christopher is around to defend.

Though I never had high expectations for this series, now that they have released information about the series I have something to respond to. A number of egregious errors present themselves in what little has been revealed thus far. I will not be watching this series, and these are my reasons.

How does one write like JRR Tolkien? Is it possible? As it happens, he has actually given instructions on this matter.

These are my suggestions for how to save Dr Who and make it into something that people want to watch again. BBC should take note. I don't think they will, but they should if they want this series to become solvent. If they want to bring back the fans, have generational fans, and sell action figures, shirts, mugs, posters, etc., then here is what they need to do.

This is my take on the new/revived "Doctor Who" series, which I call "Nu Who." The picture I chose as the cover is emblematic of the series.

In this video I explore the second stage of the myths and beliefs surrounding Mars, which is Mars as a habitable and probably inhabited world. This view of Mars largely prevailed during the 19th and early 20th centuries, and inspired a good deal of interesting fiction.

My first video which attempts to discuss some of the mythology surrounding our fourth planet. This video focuses on the ancient and medieval world, and is by no means comprehensive, but there are some generalizations which can be made.

I recommend pausing if you want to the notes.

Can the Earth be flat? Is the idea compatible with our laws of physics? I would say no, however, in another universe it is possible. Watch to hear my logic on this matter.

What did make Dr Who good? This is an analysis of the classic/original Dr Who series. The new series is so different it has to be judged separately.

Dr. Who belongs to BBC, and I have no interest in trying to make a profit off of this video. All images are being used for purposes of criticism only.

Here I analyze Edger Rice Burroughs, and trace down possible sources of inspiration behind some of his more famous works. It's my belief that he was heavily inspired by Indian mythology and history. It strongly seems to be the case.

I do touch on some things here which might make some people uncomfortable, but my only intent (when it comes to that) is to report my observations, not comment on the value(s) of those systems.

However, when it comes to commentary on corporate entertainment, I don't really care if anyone gets offended.

Since there has been a lot of renewed chatter about "UFO's" (by which most people really mean alien visitations), I thought I would address the issue. It turns out that the words of Saint Anthony, the father of monasticism, are still relevant nearly 2000 years later.

Just to be clear, I to think there could be aliens somewhere, but I think that these alleged visitations are due to something else.

There is a repeating pattern to the development in weapons and armor over time. To know the past is to anticipate the future.

This is probably one of my most important videos, which I will refer to again later.

It turns out there actually is a scientifically proven 6th sense, but it might not be what you think. I invited my friend Stilgar onto the channel to discuss the 6th and possible 7th sense with me. It's an unscripted discussion, unlike my other videos.

If you like this format you might also consider checking out the other channel that I'm doing with Stilgar. It's called the Rediscovery Channel, and the topics we discuss there are from history and mythology, so this topic wouldn't exactly fit for that channel.

This is my first attempt at trying to figure out what happens after Lord of the Rings. Basically, what I did was try to organize the other events that are in the lorebooks, which would chronologically come after LOTR. When there were two or more version of an event I gave precedence to whichever seemed to come later. There is a lot of uncertainty, because most of this stuff was never finished. I have to say that I'm only about 60% confident in what I have presented here. Also, I realize that doing something like this could potentially earn me some wrath, as Tolkien fans can be fairly harsh on lore interpretations (I know because I'm one of those people). So, if you find this wrong or offensive, do feel free to explain why without regard to whatever feelings I might potentially have. I endeavor to produce refined products, and I will probably revisit this topic, so criticism will be taken into account.

I actually recorded this video a while ago, and have since revised my position somewhat. I delayed for so long because many of the illustrations I needed did not exist. I was going to draw them myself, but because of the various issues and difficulties I only managed to produce little sketches of Aelfwine and Sheave. Eventually I'll do more.

Here I will speculate on how first contact with alien life might go, as well as sustained contact. This is extremely esoteric, but hopefully someone will find it useful.

This is my analysis and view of the Dune series. Here I will discuss the Dune series by Frank Herbert, and some of the movies which have been made of it.

I know Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson are writing sequels and prequels but I don't have as much to say about them, so I won't get into that unless there's a request.

This is my personal theory about alien life; concerning whether or not it exists and how it would be if it does. I come at this from a Christian/Biblical perspective, so this will be highly esoteric. Hopefully someone will find this useful.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, this is my advice to ANYONE who decides to make a new Star Trek series. I realize that right now the prevailing tendency is to ignore the fans/consumers, so I don’t actually expect they are going to follow my advice even if they hear it, but I wanted to say what I had to say regardless. If enough of us say something, then they might eventually learn.

This will be my last Star Trek video for a while. I didn't meant to stick to this topic for as long as I have.

Now that I have discussed what made Star Trek good, I want to talk about what makes Nu Trek so bad. More specifically, why I have chosen not to follow the new iterations which bare the Star Trek name.

In light of everything that's going on right now, and the serious dearth of quality entertainment in recent years, I decided to look back to one of the greatest franchises for inspiration. I wanted to look at Star Trek analytically to determine what exactly made it good, and what the winning formula is (if there is one). This is mostly my opinion, but I think most Trekkies will agree and I welcome any feedback.

Is it? I wanted to deal with the question of whether or not StarTrek The Original Series is outdated and if it should be redone/thrown out. The video turned out longer than I had planned, but I think I made some good points in it.

Can life come from non-life? There is this ongoing notion that that if life can be found on exoplanets it will somehow validate the notion that life can come from non-life.

I wanted to say a few words about the death of Christopher Tolkien. Being a huge Tolkien fan, I had rather hoped that I would be able to write him and potentially hear back. Obviously that's not possible now, but I can at lest commemorate his work.

I suppose that the focus of my channel is lore, which includes modern(ish) entertainment, mythology, and to some extent history. In other words, I am talking mainly about things that I like.

In my free time, when I have it, I like to write and draw, so most of my videos deal with sources of inspiration and ideas.
