TUTORIAL
========
Doom64 EX is a Windows/Mac source port of the original game for the Nintendo 64. It operates on the same principle as GZDoom, although it's a completely separate engine - called the Kex engine. Doom64 EX runs in upscaled resolution and enhanced color. It also allows mouse-aim, making targeting much easier.

Please note that, in order to play this on pc or Mac, you need the original game for the Nintendo 64 console. Normally I wouldn't direct gamers to Rom sites, but since Doom 64 is essentially abandonware (Midway went out of business), here is a download link to acquire the game:

https://the-eye.eu/public/rom/Nintendo%2064/Roms/
You'll need Winrar or 7Zip to extract the file. The extracted file will most likely be called Doom 64 (U) [!].z64.

Okay, now it's time to download Doom64 EX, which will essentially allow you to emulate the game on your computer. Here is the link:
https://doom64ex.wordpress.com/downloads/

Run the Doom64 EX binary and install the program. Then copy the previously-extracted game file (Doom 64 (U) [!].z64) into the program's main folder. After that, run WadGen.exe (also in the program's main folder) and search for the location of the game file. Click on it and then open. Now the program has created a workable WAD file, allowing you to play Doom 64 on your computer :)

Once you've installed the game and updated it, you'll need the following file to make Rollcage fully compatible with modern systems:

The Doomsday Engine essentially provides a source port of the classic Build-engine games, which are Doom, Doom II, Heretic and Hexen.
It allows these old DOS games to utilize modern hardware to the fullest extent, and it allows for gamers to run them seamlessly on Windows/Linux/Mac operating systems.

Please note that, while there are are newer releases of Doomsday, I discovered sound issues with those versions after 2.0.3. So stick with v.2.0.3 for now until the problem is sorted out.

You can download the Doomsday Engine from the following website. Here's the link:
https://dengine.net/
Also, bear in mind that you need the original game installed on your harddisk in order to run it through Doomsday. You can buy it through Steam or acquire it through "other" means - it's up to you.

The 3D models in the game were installed from the website's add-ons page. There is plenty of documentation available if you want to learn how to do it yourself. Here's the download link:
http://dengine.net/addons

Look for the Hexen add-on called Hexen Community Compilation Pack (jXCCP). It's right at the bottom of the page.
