I bombed out on snatches, but I managed a good clean and jerk. I got right back into the swing of things when I got home with some squats and other accessory work. I covered most of wanted to talk about for the meet in this video, but there are some training related adjustments and goals I will cover tomorrow. I will also try to talk a bit about my first day back in school.

I'm disappointed in myself, but the only way is to keep working hard to get stronger and to improve my form, so I'm more consistent and can improve.

I hit a front squat PR today, so it would seem my legs are doing well as far as peaking goes.

This is my last heavy max out day until competition. I will be opening at these numbers. My snatch attempts will be pretty much what I did in this workout. My second attempt for clean/jerks may be a bit lower. I think I will go 102 kg, 107 kg, and then 110-112 kg depending on how my snatches look. For clean/jerks, I will open at 135 kg, 140 kg, and then 145 kg. I could make a bigger jump on my second or on my third depending on how my attempts look and feel.

In this workout, I worked to a heavy front squat single. I definitely could have done a little bit more weight than I was able to do in this workout, but not quite as much as I tried. I will have one more heavy front squat day before my competition.

This heavy single day went really well. I was able to hit what I would like to be my openers for my meet. I also was able to hit a PR for myself in weightlifting shoes. I'm getting closer and closer to beating my best ever deadlift.

On this day I worked on doing doubles with snatches and clean/jerks. There were technically clusters since I took more time between the reps to be considered a true double. I was general happy with how my lifts went. i did a lot of technique work at the end to work on my snatches, and I'm slowly figuring them out.

This was my first lift back after taking some time off while I was done in South Carolina. The gym I was at was not very good for heavy weightlifting, and I decided it would be a good time to take a few days off before hitting it hard again.

My focus now is to prep for my competition, which means my weightlifting movements will be coming before my squatting I do during the week. I have about 4 weeks until I compete.

The plan was to do my front squat and snatch pull work. I was feeling pretty good after that , so I tried to do some snatch work, which didn't go well. Fatigued set in well when I was doing them and the bar I was using frankly sucked. Not a good combo.

Today I did some shoulder work through snatch balances, snatch pushes, and power jerks. I also did a quick gym tour of where I'm working out while I'm South Carolina this week.

I had a really good workout today where I was able to hit a lifetime back squat PR and a lifetime push press PR. I'm glad I was able to do some good work in my first workout down here in South Carolina.

On this heavy single day, I had some good snatches, besides my very last one. I was hoping to get the 315 lbs clean and jerk, but my legs where too fatigued/weak.

I was working on some snatch work today and they felt good, so I worked up to see what I could hit. I was hoping to be able to get that 235 lbs snatch, but once I caught it, I didn't have enough strength to get it up. It stinks because I caught it pretty well. Hang cleans went as expected. Always working on improving the form.

I was pretty tired from being outside all day coaching baseball and not getting enough sleep the night before. Having a workout like this shows me the importance of getting enough sleep, especially when I'm going to be already tired from other things going on in life.

Squats went amazing on this day. I wasn't able to split my workout into two parts today, but I was able to do good work on all my lifts today.

Justin had me work to push my knees out when I start to pull the weight, and that really help my form when doing this movement, which allowed me to hit a big PR on the movement. Pulls also went really well, but were extremely difficult.
