Ready for the New 2024 Season Car Shows. Today we were at another Sunset Cruisers Car show in Owensboro KY. There are always lots of awesome and amazing cars and trucks at these shows. Some we have seen before, but some were new to us. Always enjoy looking at these treasures and enjoy talking with the owners and hearing their stories.

Today, we are still at Lake Malone State Park Campground. Camping Cooking and Eating the whole day. Ending the first day of camping we start a new fire so Judy can roast her marshmallows. The next day from the campground we take a walk through the woods to the lake.

Today, we are at Lake Malone State Park Campground. We wanted to try out camping in our Ford Econoline Van on this trip. It was a quick set up at the campsite and having the Ironman awning room tent gave us lots of room. We were able to have more space in the van thanks to the room tent. It was a good trip in a beautiful, wooded campground.

Little River Trail is a short distance from the Elkmont Campground and the Abandoned town of Elkmont. It follows an old logging road used by the Little River Lumber Company in the early 1900s.

We also took a small path on the way back. Following the path through the woods, we came up on a bridge that was built over a small creek.

It's Called the Elkmont Troll Bridge!

The Wonderland Hotel was built in 1911 in Elkmont, Sevier County, Tennessee. The Hotel had 26 sleeping rooms, no two of which were the same. Most of the rooms included a private bathroom, many of which included antique claw footed bath tubs. The lobby of the hotel included a large brick double faced fireplace. The Wonderland Hotel lease expired in 1992. On November 15, 1992 the Wonderland Hotel saw its last day of operation. In 1995 the Hotel was partially lost to a fire. By 2005, the remnants of the Hotel had collapsed.

Today we are Hiking through a forgotten vacation destination that was formerly favored by the richest families in East Tennessee. Located inside the forests of the Great Smoky Mountains and is now only visible by the the towering stone chimneys that remain.

Today at the Central City Cruise-in. We got to see Billy Hayes with his ( 0ne Owner ) Shelby Mustang. It's a 2008 with only 54 Miles.

The Tipton Place homestead was initially settled by Revolutionary War Veteran William “Fighting Billy” Tipton in the 1820s.
The homestead was complete with a large, two-story cabin and a cantilever barn.
Once the home of one of Cades Cove’s first blacksmiths, there is still a blacksmith shop behind the house. Additionally, there is a Bee apiary, a smokehouse, and a corn crib.

2023 Rods & Ribs Car Show Downtown Central City.
