Tex wakes up imprisoned aboard the Moon Child an hour before the end of the world and is left to ponder whether to accept an offer to join the cult and live in luxury for the rest of his life or to escape and try to sabotage the station in a hopeless attempt to save the world.

The Chameleon has killed Pug and kidnapped Alaynah in an effort to discourage Tex from opposing the cult, but that has only made Tex even more determined to stop him. The letter to Marcus Tucker mentioned Bastion of Sanctity as the place to meet with the Chameleon. Maybe he's still there.

DAY 4 A Code, a Tode, and a Cigarette Load

Tex was told that he has unknowingly doomed the entire planet and must now undo his mistake before the end of the world next Thursday. First step after nursing his new bruises is to take stock of his friends and enemies and find the clue the Colonel left him.

This is the part of the game where I miss 2 points. In the GRS offices, if you wait long enough for the security robot to come into the rooms for routine checks, you gain 1 point for successfully hiding behind the tables/screens/plants in each room. I didn't wait long enough in the conference room for it to happen and the robot never left Marcus Tucker's office, so I didn't get those two points. Should I go back to replay the game and get that high score?

If he hopes to get paid the remaining 29,000 dollars for the job he did, and find the missing 1000 already in his wallet, he needs to get a lead on who might've mugged him. Maybe somebody in the neighbourhood saw something.

DAY 2 Goose eggs and Hamm

Having successfully closed a case and returned Rook's bracelet, Tex regains confidence in himself and decides to focus on his work again. A lucrative job offer from a wealthy aristocrat to find some lost family heirloom could be right around the corner, if Tex just had a working fax machine. Lucky a new electronics store just opened next door.

Pulling the lever at 38:19 in Eddie Ching's place removes 20 points from your total. It is the only place in the game where points can be lost. If you want to go for max high score, don't pull the lever. I did it because it's funny.

Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon - Day 1. Cuffing up Flemm

DAY 1 Cuffing up Flemm

December 2042, San Francisco. Private detective Tex Murphy has fallen on hard times after his divorce, spending his free time drinking in the absence of paying clients. After a surprise visit and a slightly demeaning speech from his old mentor, the Colonel, Tex feels just insulted enough to go out and find a job, regardless of size or reward, to prove that he's still as good a PI as ever.

Here begins my walkthrough of the third game in one of my favourite video game series ever, Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon.

This playthrough is fairly exhaustive. I inspect NEARLY everything and to my knowledge collect every available point in the game except one (or two?). I also willingly lose 20 points at a certain area, making this technically not a 1000+ point playthrough, but more about those instances later.
For those unaware, points don't really matter in this game as their only use is to buy hints if you get stuck and I've disabled the hints entirely. The game manual claims that there is a hidden reward for collecting all 1000 points, which is false in two ways: there doesn't appear to be any reward and there are actually more than 1000 points in the game. But it's not the manual that we're here for, is it.

In dialogues I tried to choose the most story/character related, fitting or simply amusing options, except at the start. Having recently watched a bit of somebody else's let's play of the game, I felt compelled to make different choices than that other person at first, but later decided to focus on just making this a fun watch on it's own.

Like pretty much all good adventure games, Under a Killing Moon would be best experienced on your own for the first time. I guess I do understand it if the somewhat archaic control scheme puts you off playing it, though.

I wouldn't watch day 10 if I were you. I did terribly. It was one of those situations where I didn't really want to play Freelancer, but I had just finished everything else I needed to do and had the whole day to play something and I couldn't be sure when I would get a chance to play Freelancer again. So I played it, but didn't really have fun.

Exactly how did I lose the Silent Assassin Suit Only prestige objective? Did 47 change his suit in the sewers or something? Also, HITMAN 3 has started crashing like crazy lately. A couple of dozen times a day when I've tried to record videos. Strangely Freelancer has only crashed once, though.

I am not happy. Not happy at all.
